Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

Need to match DIP switchs on a universal garage door remote

Need to match to an older 315 freq. Mastercraft Trac Drive (I think it's a Genie) opener that uses 12 punch out switches (none punched out). My universal remote is a Clicker model KLIK1C. When I put all the DIP switches on the universal remote into the ON position (I assume that's what I need to do to match the Mastercraft one, since all the punch outs look intact) and press the new remote button 13 times (as indicated for a 12 position Genie remote in the instructions) the door doesn't respond.

    Yes. It says freq.

Sorry - Yes. It says freq. 315 on the back of the Mastercraft remote

I really don't want to buy a new set. I use the Clicker for one garage door and it was easy to program and use. I'd like to use it for another door, but the opener on that door (the Mastercraft unit) is older. I'm not sure how old.

you sure older is 315; not 390.

Hi, I have an older garage door opener, Genie

If the opener doesn't work with the button on the wall the opener is defective, either the receiver board or the motor drive circuit or the motor itself.

I have a Sears Model 139.53879 (3-Function Remote Control) garage door opener. It's about 12 years old. The remote controls open the door fine but the remotes do not close the door; it has to be closed...

Sounds like a problem with the safety photocells, to confirm locate the where the safety input is on the opener and bridge out the terminals ( not the supply voltage terminals) if the door then closes the photocells are the problem.

Genie model ACSD1G will not program to Linear door opener model # LD033.-- need help doing this.

Most of the time, keypads and remotes are not compatible with other manufacturers. You would be better off getting a universal keypad, which should work. Double check the older opener to make sure it is on the list of compatible devices.

Also, make sure you check the balance of your garage door periodically to make sure your springs are counter-balancing the garage door properly. If not, the lifespan of the garage door opener will be substantially shortened. Click here for a how-to video.

I have new Genie 9-12 remote for garage door opener and I do not know my old security code

The code for the opener is on a dip switch set under the light bulb lens on the opener unit. Remove the lens and the switch set is usually located on the left as you look at it. It's either a 9 or 12 switch set. Match the numbered switches on both the remote and the receiver, and it should work! Oh, and make sure the battery is fresh.

Own late model 12hp Genie screw drive garage door opener and want to know where to locate the Learn Code Button.

It will be on the outer surface of the motor head, or under the light cover. It will be the only one you can press. Some older units have dip switches which look like a row of toggle switches. If so there will be no learn button. Thanks BB

2 different openers stopped working by remote at the same time

Both the older genie and a newer chamberlain (3-4 yrs old) both run on 390Mhz frequency. sounds like you will have to change your receivers on both operators (365LM 315Mhz) then get 3 button remote so you can program both doors on one remote.
