1. You can buy a new power plug here.
2. You look at the power connector on your scanner and try to find a replacement with the following specifications:

Input voltage/frequency:

  • 100 Vac, 50/60 Hz (Japan)
  • 120 Vac, 60 Hz (North America)
  • 230 Vac, 50 Hz (Europe)
Output voltage/watt:
  • 12 V DC, 15 watt maximum
If you try to find an AC/DC converter yourself, make sure that the DC plug has the right +/- polarity and right size.

Hello,

In order to install Cardscan 600c on Windows 7 you need Cardscan Software version 8. Here is a link to the software along with the serial number you'll need for the activation. Please first install the software and then plug the device directly into the PC.

Do not know the power supply and type of electric adapter to be use as we have lost the original supplied one

On the bottom of the scanner, there may be a label that shows the voltage and amp rating of the adapter required.

I lost the power adapter and I need to know the output voltage

I believe it is 12V 1.25A (you can use 12V 1.5A or 2A) Probably centre +ve, but look carefully at the scanner where the power lead plugs in, it may show the polarity and voltage on the plastic near the hole. Please report back? regards

Have lost the cable that connects to computer. Besides the power, there are 2 sockets on the back. Tried a cable from the square socket to USB but computer doesn't recognise that a device is connected....

The round socket sounds like the power port, and the square one should be the USB as you thought.

Please respond with the scanner make/model and one of us can verify the connections required.

First make sure the scanner is receiving power and is turned on. Then check the connections on the scanner and follow them to the PC. Make sure they are connected properly to the pc and that the cable has a clear path. If you're still having problems let us know.

Plugs for Astra Scanner 1220U

Ran across your request for information about the cables needed for hooking up the Umax Astra 1220U scanner. The scanner require a standard older version USB cable that hooks the scanner to your PC. The second cable is the Power Supply Adapter cable. The information listed on the Power Supply Adapter is listed below. P/N 490081-03 Input 120 Volt @ 60 Hz 0.3 amps Output DC 12 Volts @ 1 Amp Model # RWP481212 You should be able to get the scanner to work as long as you can find any power supply that has the listed Input/Output ratings, an adapter that will plug into the scanner. Hope this help you. disaksen

Canon LIDE 60

hi styrimenn,

I see that the LiDE 60 is powered by USB. Thus it draws all its power from USB and requires no power adapter to function. As you certainly know there's currently two versions of USB, namely
USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (with a third, USB 3.0 in development).
The difference between the USB versions is such that
USB 2.0 is faster and provides greater electrical power
to attached devices than USB 1.1.
I see from
http://www.canon-europe.com/For_Home/Product_Finder/Scanners/Flatbed/canonscan_lide60/index.asp that the LiDE 60 requires the power output of a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed bus. This means that if you plug the scanner into a USB 1.1 bus, the scanner will not get the required amount of power to function.
If your PC doesn't have on board USB 2.0 ports, a PCI USB 2.0 adapter may be installed in a open PCI expansion slot on your motherboard to provide your PC with USB 2.0 functionality.

You need to download the drivers for the LiDE 60 at
http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010220.asp
(select your operating system and language). You can download the
CanonScan Toolbox
Deldrv, and
ScanGear SC
to ensure software communication between your PC and scanner

Hope you find this information helpful in solving your scanner's problem and thanks for using the FixYa service
Kind regards
