I have an older model CD player - XL-415 and although I can eject the cassette holder I cannot eject the single disc. The player will not play anything only gives a loud humming noise. Any suggestions?
It wasn't a car cd player, but a component for a stereo. I took off the case and shook the player until the disc dropped out. We plan to replace the player, so no further help is needed. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

I would pull off cover, unscrew and remove top carriage of tray and remove your disc. While your at it you should take cotton swab and dip it in rubbing alcohol and clean the laser lens. Then reinstall carriage and top cover and try using it again.
Disc Eject Prohibit: This feature keeps the disc from ejecting even if the eject button is pushed. The disc eject prohibit feature is engaged/disengaged by pressing the CD and Eject buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds.
