  1. Check the properties of your wireless connection.
  2. Click on your wireless connection
  3. Click properties
  4. under "This connection uses the following items" select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" then click the "Properties"button
  5. under the "General" tab "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" should be checked.
  6. make sure DHCP is enabled by clicking on "Advance" button.
  7. while there you might as well check DNS and WINS tab that theres nothing in any of the boxes and are at default settings.
  8. Also check the "Options" tab and check the TCP/IP filtering is at default and not enabled.
  9. close the box and go back to wireless properties and select "Wireless Network" tab
  10. If you want to automatically connect under "Preferred networks make sure that your Wireless network (SSID) is present and the only one there, if not present Add it or move it up.
  11. check your Internet Options "Connection" tab
  12. make sure "Never dial a connection" is checked
  13. click on "Lan Settings" button.the only thing that should be checked is "Automatically detect settings
  14. If the configurations are ok on thoses places but you still cannot access the internet double click (or click) on your wireless connection again and on the "Support" tab click "repair". this will also do a release and renewal of your IP address
  15. If all fails connect directly to your router via your cat5 cable and see if you can connect that way. Also try to do a reset of your modem and then your router. Then try again.
  16. You may also have to check your Wireless routers configurations.
Hope this helps ! dont forget to vote.

Ok. Is this a new laptop or router? I suggest you restart your internet modem, then your router and then your laptop. In that order. Letting each come online before starting the next. Then, you need to bring up your control panel screen. In that click on Network connections and look for the Connections tab. Click repair. Or if you have the internet icon in your system tray, bottom right by the clock, then right click it and choose repair. Hope this helps.

How do i check if my acer travelmate 4230 has a bluetooth module ?

Hi, You need to Acer eNET Management, the empowering Technology,
using Acer eLock Management and Acer eRecovery Management, you must initialise the Empowering Technology password. Right-click on the Empowering Technology toolbar and select "Password Setup" this will enable you to do so. If you have not initialized the Empowering Technology password and run Acer eLock Management or Acer eRecovery Management, you must create it.
Acer eNet Management this will assist you to quickly connect to both wired and wireless networks. to access this utility, select "Acer eNet Management" from the Empowering Technology toolbar or
run the program from the Acer Empowering Technology program group in Start menu.

This should resolve your issue

Acer Aspire 5570Z will not STAY connected to my wireless router in my house but not connected directly to the Acer. Worked fine with Cricket. Tried disabling TC/IP6 and ACer ENET management but no luck....

If you are using 2.4 gig cordless phones or a cell phone with a bluetooth near your computer or the router these can interfere with your connection also a microwave can sometimes interfere. Also look at making sure your drivers are up to date for the wireless card.

Good luck.

How do i enable my acere enet management, its saying that its off..... its a Acer 5315

This is one for anyone familiar with the Acer eNet Management software. It consistently connects to wireless networks besides my own. The "Auto" profile is unchangeable, so I created another profile, and put my network in the "WLAN perferred list", but everytime the computer restarts, it selects the "Auto" profile instead of my own, and connects somewhere else. Searching on other help forums, the solution I've found has pretty much been to ditch Acer eNet Management and use another managment software, like the one build into Windows. I don't mind doing this, but I simply can't fathom that the people who developed this software didn't include an option to change the default profile. If so, I think I've just lost all faith in my fellow software developers. But alas, after hours of googling and reading manuals, this seems to be just the case.

The only info I can find is that it "automatically uses the best settings (changes profile I assume) based on location". This would seem to indicate there somewhere there exists a setting mapping certain locations to profiles. How the heck its supposed to know what location you are in (home, office, etc) without you telling it (scan Wifi networks maybe?) is odd, but even so, since this particular computer never moves, there has to be a way to have it always use a certain profile, even it means I have to map this profile to a "location". These obviously are not the "best" settings for me since it connects to my neighbours unsecured wireless, instead of my secured wireless. And it doesn't just sometimes not select my connection, it ALWAYS doesn't select my connection, even though it's 5 bars vs 3 on the other connection.

I also went into "Settings" in eNet Management and deselected the "Switch Networks Automatically" and "Allow Acer eNet Management to connect automatically to an open wireless network" (which are profile independent so they stay deselected) but IT STILL DOES.

I think I just needed to get that off my chest, but if anyone has other solutions besides disabling eNet Management, is it possible to control what profile it selects on boot?

Thanks very much!

My internet is not connecting & the acer enet

Acer enet management can cause conflicts with the normal windows connection service.

try disabling acer enet management and then attempting to connect to the internet.

Right click on the enet management icon on your toolbar and then click disable, and then try to connect to the internet using windows.

Keep losing internet connection.

The simplest solution is usually to switch from eNet's management to Windows' Wireless Configuration Utility. Other than that, solving the problem would need much more detail, such as the router type, the distances involved, the router's antenna setup, the other equipment in the are and any intervening obstacles.

ACER 5720 WIRELESS CONNECTION PROBLEMS

I have an Acer 5420 which had a persistent disconnection problem after startup, with either the wireless or LAN connection. It appears that the Microsoft network application would startup and make the connection, but seconds later the Acer Enet Management application would start, and its first act would be to disconnect from the Internet. Since the Microsoft network application provides every feature that I want, I choose to disable the Acer Enet Management.
  1. Following up on a hint from on of the posts, I went to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt.
  2. At the command prompt window, I typed msconfig
  3. About a minute later (after Vista confirmed that it was OK to run this program, the System Configuration window comes up, where I selected the "services" tab
  4. Scrolling down the numerous services, I found "eNet service" and clicked the check mark to disable the service. Hit apply and OK, and restarted my laptop.
  5. The problem went away after that.
