Re: No LCD display
If you get the hard drive lights flashing on boot up, the system will probably be booting as normal, if so, use a torch and shine it onto your screen to see if your desktop shows, if so your backlighting has failed and only taking to a qualified repairer is advised.
If the system has not booted into windows, but you know the screen is ok, next time you boot up try pressing F8 on boot up and see if windows enters safe mode, and when it has gone into safe mode, highlight 'Last known good configuration' and press enter to reboot.
The other thing to try is to press F2 or Del on boot up and seeif you can get into the bios, if you can and can see the bios menu, you know the screen is ok, but there is something more serious wrong.
If all else fails use your windows cd to boot into windows, but you will have to set in the bios your cd drive to be the first boot device and then press enter when prompted to repair windows if neccassary.
Unfortunately it is difficult to diagnose from your description of the problem, as even the hard drive may be faulty.

hi try connect yr laptop to external monitor and see result. if display come that mean yr lcd or connection to yr lcd or inverter problems. but, if prpoblems still same, most likely yr problems is motherboard or display chipset
So, if your motherboard is turning on and the fan comes on than for now you can check to see if your back light turns on for your lcd panel by going to a dark place and turn ont he laptop there. Than check if you see a faint light that stays on or a flicker. If you see a faint light or the display is dim than it is the inverter on the lcd panel otherwise you may need to replace the video card which can be integrated onto the motherboard and may require a new motherboard. All depends on the model you have.
Several things you need to check before replacing actual parts. First, check the connection to the inverter for the lcd. Sometimes the connection can become loose causing a blank lcd but the motherboard is working fine. Next would be to actually replace the inverter if only the lcd does not power on at all. Even if lcd is blank you can see that the lcd is on but no picture in which case your video card could have failed and in many cases requires changing the motherboard because video is integrated into the board. Good luck.
