Goes through charging process Red light blinks then green light blinks like it is charging then after a few seconds solid green as if fully charged but it is still dead

I had the same problem. Your battery sounds like it got drained too much. The voltage on the battery is too low for the charger to charge. I looked on YouTube (how to charge battery that won't charge). I actually tried this today. I had a battery attached to one of those flashlights from a combo pack and the battery was drained down to 0.64v. The video I watched said take a higher voltage batter and boost it. Like a 20v to boost your 18v. Attach wires from one to the other. + to + and - to - I didn't have any. So what I did was stick 9v batteries together + to - in series I had 5 laying around. I taped a wire to the exposed terminals on the two end batteries and tapped the wire on the battery, which only brought it up to about 2.3volts. Then I just held the two wire on the battery for about a minute. It went up to about 6.3 volts I plugged it in the charger and it finally started charging. I don't know how well it will keep a charge. The batter is 10 or 12 years old. Hope this helps. And check YouTube. There is a lot of videos there.

On some chargers, when the light blinks rapidly, it means that the battery is bad. Try looking up charger information on-line.

Can you use 18v lithium battery in old 18v drill

Yes you can. On tools, 18 volts is 18 volts. Tools don't 'know' how the power is being created, either by Ni-Cad or Li-Ion means. Chargers are totally different. Most Li-Ion chargers can charge older Ni-Cad and some Ni-MH batteries but older Ni-Cad chargers will charge Li-Ion battery untill they overheat and sometimes start on fire because older chargers can't detect when the Li-Ion batteries are full.

Makita battery charger wont charge

If both lights on the charger are flashing it is indicating you have a bad battery and the charger will not charge the battery. The charger has circuitry that tests the battery and if it 'thinks' the battery is defective it will not attempt to charge it. The only way to verify whether it's the battery or charger is to try charging your battery on another charger or try charging another battery on your charger. Most of the time it's a bad battery.

I just bought the Lithium - ion batteries for replacement for my 18.0 volt ni-cad battery. when I put it (ion battery) in the charger (ni-cad charger) no lights come on. what's up?

Lithium Ion batteries don't charge the same way ni-cads or ni-mh do. You need a lithium ion specific charger to charge them. (Some chargers do multiple types.)

Hi,
Some of batteries drain very quickly. Depends on how they are used.
Feel free to check Your Local battery Manufacturer for best prices for all different batteries. You name it and they have it or they can custom make a battery for you.

Thanks

Broken dewalt battery 18v lithium ion 2.0ah flashes fast red when in charger

When a Dewalt charger is showing a fast blinking red light it means the battery is no longer chargeable. It may be because of a bad cell or short inside the battery. Whatever the reason the charger will not charge the battery and it needs to be replaced.

Ryobi p103 battery charged but dosen't work.

You need to have the charger tested, if you know that batteries are good then what else could it be. This LIon charger has a logic circuit in it like a computer.
