The "cartridge" is actually a magazine and the usual solution for a stuck CD requires disassembly

The problem is in the loading bay, sometimes 2 CD's will get jammed locking up the system, or the timing gear is out of sync, or possible broken gears.

Can you manually release a DVD from the Panasonic S32? The DVD player 'died' - with a CD inside. The instructions are silent on a manual solution.

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -
1. Unplug the DVD player and take the outer casing of the DVD player off. This entails either taking out two or three screws or simply sliding one of the pieces of plastic in either direction.
2. Locate the disc loader cover. The disc loader cover is located where the extending DVD tray finally comes to rest within the DVD player. It's the part that holds the DVD loader in place.
3. Bend the two tabs outward that hold the loader in place. This is a delicate procedure because you don't want to hurt the device. The tabs are relatively easy to break since they're plastic in most cases.
4. Slide the disc tray out. If your disc got stuck before it was read, it's probably still on this tray. If so, your problem is solved. However, if the disc was fully set and loaded, the job isn't quite finished yet.
5. Move the small mechanical arm that holds the disc in place over so that the disc and the reader are both exposed. Some DVD players will not have anything holding the disc in place. Instead, these devices use a system not unlike that of a common DVD case. The DVD will be locked in place in the center.
6. Carefully lift the disc up and out of its loaded position in the DVD player. This may entail sliding the disc reading mechanism over slightly. This won't hurt the device as long as you're careful. You should be able to access and remove the disc.

Good Luck!!

I have a 6 disc pioneer CD player that will not play or eject the case of CD's? It trys but nothing happens.

This sometimes happens when you put two disc's in one tray. If it's not locked in the loaded position then you can take a thin piece of plastic (as thin as a credit card but longer, five inches or so) or the equivilant (like that impossible to open without cutting yourself plastic packaging) and slide it underneath the 6 disc cartridge. You need to work it in and out, eventually you will hit the release mechanisim.
If a disc is loaded then it won't work and you need to dissasemble the changer and manually retract the disc.

Cd changer won't open

try to open by hand, see if the tray is stuck.
opening by hand is you turn the motor.
if you put a power supply direct to the motor the pcb will be burnt
(giving a bigger problem).
Look for mechanical problems.

Not closing

Hello, with mechanical problems with sophisticated systems of gears etc, the only way thate one can fix it is if you send me a digital picture yourself. To access the inside of the DVD player, you will have to get a handyman to open the DVD player up with a screwdriver, by undoing some screws which hold the cover to the player itself. Then, with the player's circuit boards (The Green/brown Boards with weird components on it) showing, take around 5-6 photo's of the loading tray and the playing tray.(Where the disc is when watching a movie)In the time being, open the layer's cover as instructed before, and look at the inside of the tray for any broken plastic, debris or anything stopping the tray from opening. Good luck!
