Treadclimber centering

Dear Sir:
ecalibrate the machine if speed is not registering, belts stop turning or the display readout shows an "err, LS, OS" on the face. Calibrate the TreadClimber by plugging it in. Stand on the foot platforms, or floor mat. Do not stand on the walking belt. Insert the safety key. Press the "start" key when "CAL/PRSS/STRT" shows on the readout. If readout fails to show the "CAL/PRSS/STRT" symbol, turn off machine and turn it back on. Press "ENTER" and then "DOWN SPEED" at the same time until "CAL/PRSS/STRT" shows up on the display. Belts will start and stop during the calibration; do not be alarmed. Do not make any adjustments or interrupt the display of numbers as the unit goes through the calibrations. When the machine is finished calibrating, the readout will display "CAL...PASS" and you can press the "POWER" key to get out of the calibration section.

You should not adjustthese since they are preset. Tension can be affectedslightly by adjusting the tension of the walking belt but if you have a slippingproblem, the drive belt will require replacement. If yourdrive belt is too loose, it will slip on the front roller pulley or the motorpulley. If it is too tight, it will increase your amp draw to the point thatyou may have an electronics or motor problem. Due to this, it is better to beon the safe side and replace a drive belt rather than riskover tightening it. A drive belt is usually $29.99 or less while many parts youcan damage by over tightening can be more than $300.Additionally, too much tension can cause bearing failure in the motor and thefront roller and front roller pulley failure. It is better to err onhaving the belt a little too tight rather than too loose due to the possibilityof injury if the belt slips. Motor Belt Adjustment-Icon Units Do not remove any of themounting bolts to the motorthese repairs will require 2 9/16" wrenches andmayrequire two people to accomplish the repairs Before beginning this repair: Check to make certain that the drive belt requiresadjustment. Check out belt slipping instructions or with the motor cover removed, walk on the belt normally and try to stall the belt to make it slip. Be careful during this test. If theproblem is in the drive belt, eitherthe drive belt will stop when stalled or the front roller will stop whenstalled. If the motor, drive belt, and front roller continue to turn when thewalking belt is stalled, the problem is with the walking belt slipping on thefront roller. If the drive belt continues to turn but the frontroller stalls, you may have a broken front roller pulley. If you need further assistance, please reach me.

Sincerely. God bless you.

Track sliping

Adjust walking belt tension at the front of the unit using the provided hex wrench on the exposed adjustment bolts located on each side of each front roller. Be sure to adjust both bolts on each roller the same amount as to not disrupt belt alignment. Tighten (turn clockwise) each adjustment bolt in full turn increments. After each adjustment, restart unit and check to see if belt slippage has been eliminated. Repeat if necessary. If slipping feel persists after several adjustments, stop and see if it maybe the drive belt. Remove left rear plastic cover to expose “v” belt drive line and motor. Tighten nut on the motor tension bolt located on front side of motor in 1/2 turn increments until drive belt slippage is eliminated - DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. Replace cover when finished.

When walking in my Bow Flexn as in regular treadmill mode it feels like it slips under my one foot sometimes any clue as to why ?

If belt hesitates or slips when walking on unit it may be caused by either a loose walking belt or a loose drive belt. To determine the cause perform the following test: Stand beside Tread-Climber® fitness machine and set speed to 2 MPH. Step on one treadle and attempt to stop movement. If one belt stops but roller at rear and other belt continue to turn walking belt tension should be adjusted. If both belts stop but motor is still turning the drive belt tension should be adjusted.

Treadmill adjustment on bowflex 5000tc

There are two hexagonal screws on either side of the front rollers, and four inset hexagonal screws on the back rollers. Turn it on the lowest speed while turning the ones in front, one at a time. You'll see the tread move from one side to the other. Tightening the screws bring the rollers out, pulling the rubber tread taught, and to the left or right, depending on which screw you're turning at the time. The treads should roughly be the same tension, adjusting both inside and outside front screws for each tread. If you have the dual rear rollers, you'd then have to stop the machine after finishing the fronts and tighten the four inset hexagonal screws on each of the rear rollers. No adjustment per se, just tighten them. If you don't, you'll have a sort of clunking, or clicking noise from the imbalance. The single rear roller is a little different, and the adjustment I believe, can be found on this site:

Good luck.
