Hi Christieb942,

When you get a new hand shower you can sometimes get sediment on the federally mandated FLOW RESTRICTOR. Not screaming, that is ****** in cheek. To CHECK the Flow Restrictor for debris, look at the hose connection end of the hand shower. You will see an INSERTED part that is green, yellow, or white. We have to push that in there to satisfy the EPA requirement for flow. You can pull it OUT and rinse it off. Then connect your handshower and try it and see if it is improved. You will not void the warranty in any way by doing this. I hope you understand what I am telling you, but if not you can call me 800-334-0455. I wish I could answer more directly, but Big Brother has eyes.

Grab a wrench and give it at least a quarter-turn. Hand tight isn't enough with a shower, even with teflon tape.

Is there a way to take out flow restrictor to Hansgrohe faucet? Model Talis S

The flow restrictor is located just inside the head where the hose attaches and can be removed with a pick or even a wood screw. Be careful not to scar the inside of the head when removing it because there is an o-ring on the hose that seals to that inside surface. There's also a screen on the end of the hose that can clog. Here's a link to info on removing and cleaning the head. http://assets.hansgrohe.com/mam/celum/celum_assets/16__hruh0618_pdf.pdf?3

Slow flowing hansgrohe shower head

First thing to check is the filter screen at the hose connection on the hand shower. If this screen is clean and there is no debris in the flow restriction device inside the handle end you will most likely need to clean the hand shower spray face. You can remove the unit from the hose and soak the spray face in CLR. Follow the instructions on the container for use and dilution. Soak for no more than 10 minutes at a time. After soaking, rinse the unit well and reconnect to the water source. Run water through it and while running rub the rubber spray channels to further clear up any deposits. Repeat the soaking and cleaning process at least two more times to clear out all deposits that may be limiting your performance. Hansgrohe shower head water leaking out of connector

Is it a Grohe or Hansgrohe shower head? If it is a Hansgrohe shower head the first thing to check is if the self sealing filter gasket is installed at the connection to the shower arm. Hansgrohe shower heads have a black self sealing filter gasket in the head that some people remove assuming it is a flow restriction device. It is only a filter and does not restrict flow unless clogged with debris. Next make sure the flow restriction device below the filter gasket is still installed. On some models removing the flow restrictor will cause water to be expressed from the air injection ports near the pivot ball. Feel free to contact me at Hansgrohe. 1-800-334-0455. How to un-fit Hansgrohe Chroma 3-ways handshower?

Hansgrohe hand showers have filtration sometimes on the inlet side of the hand shower. You must unscrew the smooth conical nut from the handshower to expose the filter and the flow restrictor. If your hand shower is not equipped with a filter gasket, you should use one to protect your hand shower from the particulate.

Filter gaskets can be used at your body sprays and shower head as well if you have them. If you have a Hansgrohe thermostatic valve you don't need the little filter screens, because the valve is filtering the water good enough. We do not recommend opening your handshower for cleaning. There would be a strong chance you may not get it together again, or it may become damaged.

If your concern is with a buildup of lime on the spray faces, you can use a decalcifying agent to dissolve the deposits, but do not soak for more than 10 minutes and then rinse well with clear water.

There is very little water coming out of the head. how do i take the head off

Check out the connection line to the hand held shower. Take it appart and check out the screen and make sure it is clean. Also there is a dime shaped restrictor that reduces water consumption down to 1.6 gals. You can remove that plate and the water flow will increase. The head on the shower itself you can soak it in vinegar to clean head up.

Hope this will be of some help yo you thanks.

Flow restrictor

Hi, all the shower heads that I replaced, the flow restrictor was always in the nut that you screw onto the pipe that comes out of the wall.it's a plastic disc, with a little hole in middle.you can use a coat hanger to pull it out.
