If the input is really bad the board it is on will have to be replaced---have seen several techs try to replace the socket with no luck.

The problem started slowly after I bought a Denon A?v receiver with hdmi input. I would have to turn on receiver first and then tv or all I would get is a green screen with audio. Within a month, the tv would only flash between green screen, tile in, tile out, back to green screen. All componet inputs work. I removed the Denon from the loop and tried both my dish and to dvd players with 3 different hdmi cables to rule those out. Same problem. Thanks for your timley answer.

Cable box is plugged into denon's hdm1, but I can't get a picture. Hdm1 out monitor (arc) is plugged to TV hdm1 in (arc).

Power up all components. Select the HDMI 1 input on the Denon amp, and the HDMI 1 input on the TV. Additionally, run the old analog cables between the cable box and the TV. If no picture, select the input on the TV that is associated with the analog input from the cable box. You should have a picture at this point - but it will be a standard definition type. Check the settings on the cable box to change the output from "A / V" to Digital on the HDMI jack - if present. You may have better luck unplugging power / replugging in the cable box first - or calling the cable company if you can't find settings for this. Once you have the output of the cable box to HDMI, select HDMI on the TV. If you still don't have it working - try bypassing the Denon and go directly into the TV from the cable box. Try it with BOTH HDMI cables. Also - try different inputs and out puts (HDMI 2, HDMI 3, etc.). Discard any HDMI cable that fails to show video and play audio.

Hdmi input not working

Video is different from HDMI. From what I have seen you should have video inputs and component inputs. instead of trying these video inputs, look for tv/component button on your remote or tv settings.

Soundbar fadding

Try other HDMI inputs as the HDMI#1 may be defective. If the same happens on HDMI#2 or3, then Change the HDMI Cable. If that fails, the SoundBar is a problem.

My HDMI input on the back of the set does not work. It was working till just recently then quit.

it's very odd that it would fail and its most likely that the HDMI input isn't the problem, the more frequent problem are the cables connected the the HDMI input.

I have an ILO 32HD and the HDMI input does not seem to work.. goes from no signal to HDMI 10801 but i get a flash of a picture somtimes.. My first HD and can't see it!!! I have tried 2 NEW HDMI cables...

HDMI issues are almost always the scource and not the TV. If HDMI fails to work then use the component inputs as your picture will still be in high definition when on HD channels..

No input signal HDMI

turn on and hold down the on/off button for thirty seconds when it resets it will load up via hdmi lead this works both ways going from sd to hd, failing that have both connections plugged in both scart and hdmi lead then change the settings to hdmi when viewing through scart connector then flick to hdmi input and hey presto its worked.........

HDMI Input Failed

I've been seeing alot of this out in the field. The cable is thick and heavy, after awhile the HDMI connectiion inside the set comes apart and breaks from the main board. In my opinion the only difference between Component jacks and HDMI inputs is the thought of reducing the amount of wire mass in the back of the unit. It's more pleasing to the eye. If it's under any kind of warranty, call a servicer. The main PCB will need to be replaced. If it's not under warranty, use component input cables, you'll get the same performance from your set and save a few bucks.
