Just because the capacitors look fine don't mean they are. You will need to get a tester and check. Do you have standby 5vdc? is the main board supplying the 3.3-5vdc "on" signal to the power supply? If you don't have any repair experience, I recommend a professional diagnoses.

In normal casses, if the power supply regulator board of Plasma Ts cannot be get repaired by any means. The inverter transformer [Switched Mode Power Supply]; will get shorted windings inside it, which cannot be retifed. this is a critical part, that cannot be available at local electronic sparepart market, of as part at Samsung service center. it is best to replace it as card basis, as plasma power supplies must be very right in every respect for the proper working of the plasma TVs. Thie is quite normal case also, that unlike LCD power supply sections, plasma power supplies will get troubled soon, as it supplies more current to the plasma screen to illumitate. Just replace it. You can get it from the Authorised Service Center for Samsung at your town. It will solve your TVs problem. The oscillating frequency of the switched mode power supply of this model of TV you owns have [350kHz] a very high frequency than normal LCD or other Samsung power sections. It will have a high stability, which cannot be accuired by normal service techniques, and components in it will be of special type. OK.

Zenith Z50PX2D 50" Plasma HDTV will not stay on. It clicks on then off then on then off several times. I unplug it and wait a few minutes and sometimes it will come on, but not today it just keeps going on...

Had similar problem; I have determined that it was the capacitors in the powerboard! I replaced the capacitors at a higher voltage, and the tv is working again (for now) :) To anyone else having issues, I highly recommend looking at the powerboard before spending any money either fixing or replacing the tv. Take the back off the TV and look at the powerboard, if any of the capacitors are blown they will be bowed out in the back (should be flat) Mine had 7 blown capacitors, all were 3300uf 10v capacitors. (Funny enough it was every single 3300 10V capacitor on the powerboard that blew out...) The fix cost me a total of $21!! And $15 of that was for both soldering and de-soldering irons. Through e-bay I got the 3300uf 16v capacitors for $6.50 (including shipping) I am hoping that the higher voltage will thwart this issue in the future, however only time will tell. If they blow again, I'm going to try 25v capacitors. wish me luck!

Philips lcd tv doesn't turn on no power at all

I replaced 3 capacitors on the powerboard. They were listed as 16v/1000uf and all 3 had popped(the tops raise up). I learned on another forum that replacing these capacitors to 24v/1000uf would fix the problem did. My LCD works fine now.

Supposedly all the powerboards were sub-contracted out to another company. To verify exactly which capacitors to change I looked up pics of the powereboard on E-Bay and was not surprised which ones had been changed. It cost me $5 to fix my LCD TV.

First off I did not see make or model. When plasmas die you have failure in either the power supply of the sustain boards. Do you have any voltage readings from va or vs ?
