Question about Kenmore 62802 Electric Dryer
I had a load of towels in opened the door to check them. They were not dry yet had it for running for 60 minutes. Closed the door reset for another 40 min and when i pushed the start botton it turned on for a second then shut off. Will not restart. Had the start and door switch tested and they work. Is the motor bad?? Also there is a YELLOW AND RED wire just hanging there and they said its a Moisture sensor wire but I dont think this dryer has one on it. Could that be the problem??
Does the drum turn when you press Start? If so, the motor is not bad.
I am having trouble finding a wiring diagram, but I can not find a moisture sensor in the parts listing. BUT, there should not be any wires just dangling, unless the are tagged as to their purpose.
I suspect one of the following (if the drum turns)-
1) Failed thermostat
2) Failed thermal fuse on heat elements
3) Failed over temp thermostat
4) Failed heat element
Please reply your findings and we can help further.
