How do I switch my points distributor to a hei distributor please help me :)

Easy. Set engine on TDC with distributor rotor pointing at #1 plug wire. Remove holdown bolt, disconnect small wires and remove cap and slowly lift distributor up paying attention to how the rotor moves as you lift. Note position of vacuum advance and make a mark on engine where rotor is pointing as you remove dizzy. On new distributor, rmove cap and turn rotor to match the mark you made from old rotor position. Install new unit with vacuum advance similar to the old one and rotor at correct position, and as you lower unit into place insure that rotor points same as old one did before you started removing it. The one other major issue is that a points style distributor has a supply wire with either a built in resistor, or a separate resistor inside the coil. The new unit needs full 12 volts to supply it so no resistor is used. If the old unit had a coil with internal resistor and your new unit has the coil in the cap, no change needs to be made. However if the old unit used an external resistor coil, you must now run a wire from the ignition switch "on" position directly to the distributor to supply full 12 volts. All of this depends on what you are working on so now don't you wish you had told us that?

Timing marks for nissan pickup petrol engine j21

I can't remember if the j21 has a single or twin cams, but here is a solution if you haven't taken the old timing chain off yet.
Take off the timing cover and the camshaft cover. Remove all spark plugs. Place a wire (welding rod or a piece of an old wire coat hanger) into the n;umber one plug hole - this is the plug for no. 1 cylinder, the cylinder nearest the radiator.
Turn the engine until the exhaust valve just closes and the intake valve just opens. This is referred to as the valves "rocking". At this point the wire should be right at the top of the piston stroke, and the number one piston is timed to take in gas on the down stroke, that is, the intake stroke.
At this point you should see the timing marks on the timing gears and their relationship to one another. The marks are either dots on the gear teeth, or marks on the camshaft which line up with marks on the cylinder head. These marks line up when the crankshaft is at top dead center, which is the position you turned the crank to while feeling the position of the piston with the wire.
I wish you well, good luck.

Getting hum through the speaker but when i put my hand on the jack socket it stops

If you are in the US, take a length of light-gauge wire (AWG 20-24) attach it to the center screw that keeps the cover on over the standard dual AC receptacle and to a screw on the back of your unit. This kind of problem often is caused by a poor grounding of the cover or chassis.

I have a 22" LCD

Hello
Either your DVD players' laser pickup unit or its strip wire has got damaged. Laser pickup unit is one which reads the disc we put into it, and strip wire is one which connected between the main circuit board and laser pickup unit assembly. The strip wire damage is common for all cd players, and dvd players. Just replace the strip wire with a new one of same type; and see the effect. If it helps you it is OK. If not, replace the laser pickup unit assembly with same type and number.
If you wants anymore assistance, feel free to contact me by Fixya. OK.

Hi, Pandabear195 the coils should have come with a wiring diagram for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.
For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the blue links below. Good luck and have a wonderful day.

How to remove Panasonic cq-c1301u unit from car

This is an interesting question. As to the fact that you didn't mention what kind of car you have, I can't give you exact instructions, but I can give you approximate instructions. Read all Instructions b4 you do anything and detach battery b4 working on system!!!!!!
1. Most car's require you to remove a dashboard panel, of not the whole thing. (on a side note, the panel on my jeep that has to be removed just pops out).
2. Next you need to unscrew the adapter kit from the car. A lot of older cars put Double DIN headunits into their cars, These are the larger sized headunits. Most after-market systems require a plastic adapter to allow them to fit into the larger space. As long as your new unit is the same size as the older unit, this piece can be reused.
3. Then you must remove the old headunit from the adapter. Most are either screwed in or have pressure pins that hold it in place. Either unscrew or carefully push down the pressure pins until you can remove the old headunit.
4. If you have already purchased the wiring kit, if necessary, then continue onto next step, otherwise purchase appropriate wiring kit for your headunit and car. Do not open wiring kit until you are ready to hook up your new headunit!!!!
5. Find new wiring kit, detach old wiring kit, and hook up new wiring kit according to included instructions. For best reliability, I recommend using wire nuts as electrical tape isn't as relaible and can come apart after a while. If you need to save space and can't use wire nuts, I recommend liquid electrical tape. Let this dry before you go any further.
6. Attach new headunit to adapter and then attach wiring kit to back of the headunit. Make sure to attach radio cord to back of headunit. Push adapter and headunit back into place, adjusting wires as necessary. Screw adapter back into place.
7. Re-attach dash panel back to car, reattaching screws where and if necessary and reattach battery. Power up car and test system.
8. Listen away.

If you cannot get this to work, most places like Best Buys and Circuit City have professionals that have the necessary parts and expertise to exchange headunits in cars and can do this for a small fee. Just replacing a headunit should be relatively cheep. Adding other components as well would be more expensive.

1987 GMC Jimmy Distributor cap and Rotor replacement

A diagram may not be needed as its a reasonably easy fix to do on your own.the distributor ca p will only fit on properly one way because at the base of the cap locaters can only fit the distributor if they line up.When doing the spark plug leads do them one at a time and if nessecary write or mark leads as 1,2 etc .The rotor can only fit on one way but put a mark on the distributor to show where the rotor was pointing when you took it off and if it still points there when the new one is fitted. When changing distributor cap and leads they have to go to the correct place.Pays to mark the outside of distributor cap where the locating bits are On the new and old one.Fit the new cap and rotor then take a spark plug lead and fit to new cap 1 at a time. You can tell by lining up the marks on the outside of the distributor cap when you hold them one on top of the other.Good luck

Stove top dual infinite switch

If the new switch is a substitute, should have come with instructions.
If no instructions, I would suggest matching the markings on the switch next to each terminal.eg, match terminal marking on old switch as L1 to marking on new switch as L1. The markings are industry standard and should match from old switch to new switch.

If you need further assistance, let me know
