Question about Sony KP-57HW40 57" Rear Projection Television
I figured out how to get rid of the red or green archs thanks to FixYa a year ago. Small adjustments to the screws does it. I was a EE so not dumb. Now it gives me periodic "blue flashes" on the screen. Whole screen blue for an instant. Sometimes it shuts itself off. Now comes the question, since it must go in for repair and repair is expense I am guessing since it may be a board or a part, is it really worth fixing?
Can you solder? there may just be some dry solder joints and or caps and a voltage regulator that are causing this.
otherwise you are looking at a $400 or so repair!
