Pk5001Z I'm having an issue with thisCenturyLink modem. It is new 11/2012, but doesn't have the range that my previous modem had (6WIRE).

Try changing the location, as high as you can. Add a better Antenna. Change channels.

    I have changed the location (didn't work) and also have changed channels (didn't work). Am frustrated that with an "upgraded" modem that I would have less off a wireless signal and have to buy antenna, but that's what I may be forced to do. :( After a second round of troubleshooting with CenturyLink, they are going to send me a new modem to try. I also wondered if I need to upgrade the firmware (wouldn't think I'd have to do that with a new modem, but maybe so). If the replacement modem doesn't work any better, what type of antenna or repeater would you suggest? Thanks so much!

    Try a firmware upgrade, if one is available. I could not agree more. I use to old Linksys wrt54g's in different locations with different SSIDs and channels. There old and they work very good for me. That said, I don't know your environment and wireless layout. Let's see if its a hardware problem. When you receive the replacement let us know the status. Your Modem has a internal antenna, right? I have seen this issue before with internal antenna modems. Take a look at this:

I have a PK5001z. I can not get the modem to accept the password to join IPhone to modem. Is the password the key/passphrase? What do I need to do to make modem to accept the password?

Check your PK5001z wifi security mode. If it is WEP, you will need to change it as WEP is old and not compatible with many smartphones. Change it to WPA and you should be able to link to the iPhone.

Usb modem lights up but mac doesn't recognize

I had the same problem I have a ZTE USB modem & when I connect it with mac it never show I googled ZTE for Mac & I found a driver update & update for connection manager . After installing them the modem work as charm

Arris tm502g doesn't recognize Netgear n600

Did you run the driver CD for the Netgear N600 ? That is the first place I would look. Or it is possible that your Netgear N600 is not working properly. There are some very inexpensive small USB dongles that do work very well, I would try that as well. They run in the less than $10.00 range at places like Ebay or Amazon.

Zyxel PK5001Z keeps disconnecting after 15 minutes in games, cannot connect to PSP and can barely connect to XBOX 360

I see a whole lot of answering and very little reading. After speaking with Centurylink's tech support for several weeks I had a lady who saw the amount of times I called in and forwarded me to her boss. He told me that they were having that same problem in house and that it appeared to be a firmware issue that they couldn't locate. He offered to ship me an older modem that didn't have Draft N, which I could care less about because I don't share files wirelessly all the time. So there you have it, from what I've seen it appears to be a packet loss as only certain things disconnect at times. For me it could be a game and vent or just the game or just vent. It is definitely these PK5001Z modems though.

Modem wireless N router doesn't work.

1. check the power adapter
2. if the power light is not lit you need a new power adapter.

c. check the user manual 1st.

My Break, ABS and Trac warning lights all come on at the same time. I can shut the engine down and restart the issue goes away. I t seems to be happening more frequently. My mechanic found nothing wrong...

Nothing wrong. Doesn't that seem strange to you

The ABS & Trac came on because that system has issues

There may be stored data, if not a code present

The mechanic has to component test to find the problem

These guys spend too much time with a scan tool & I
think some of them are waiting for it to tell them something

Doesn't work that way. If everything goes as it should, the
scanner shows what the computer sees,that's all,& that can
be a lot,but you have to move on & use different skills that
not everyone has learned yet apparently

Try another shop

That really isn't a diagnostic test etc,just looking at data
stream,if they see nothing out of range they quit

That doesn't help you any,the problem is still there,intermitent
maybe, but there.

I just got the Jabra GO 6470: The desk phone doesn't ring in the headset, so if you're not within hearing distance of the desk phone (but within the 300 foot range of the base) you don't know...

what i gather from what you have said is that the headset doesn't ring at all. this would indicate to me that the headset is not paired with the base.
normally when pairing devices the base station will look for the device but at the same time you will have to hold the headset power button for at least 5 seconds for that the other device can capture the signal.
i will look into this for you but try this method if applicable but the bluetooth devices do have to be paired in order to work.

Hi, My sister is switching dsl providers but doesn't want to purchase a new modem. She owns a Thomson ST516v6 but it is apparently locked to her old provider. How do I unlock the modem for her so that...

This isn't possible as the firmware is pushed down from the provider themselves. It sounds as if your sister was leasing this unit and never returned it to the original provider, if she bought this unit then I would demand that whatever provider she previously had replace it.You can find a new DSL modem from an electronics store and then she will never have to switch again and she can avoid that modem leasing fee.

Our GE profile oven model JGsp31wet1ww oven will not heat up. When i set the oven to say 400 degrees, it just stays at 100 and never heats up. The broiler seems to work fine and the stove top gas burners...

pull out the racks and remove the bottom floor of the oven,turn it on bake,if the ignitor doesn't glow most likely it's bad,if it does glow and it doesn't ignite within 40 to 60 seconds the ignitor is bad.even though it glows doesn't mean it's good,it works by takes 3.2 amps.for a flat ignitor to open the gas valve and 2.5 amps for a round ignitor to open the gas valve.
