I think that I found out some things...

Do you suggest anything due to the fact that I have Vista on my PC?

  • christouwrc Jan 13, 2009

    Hi!

As I have written in your email as well, the USB is NOT recognized when running the utility.

Has this anything to do with Vista?

    Please advice

    Thanx my friends!

At last, I have managed to unblock it - the issue was on the firewall, once deactivated, then I could follow the steps:

    1. Run the mtty utility
    2. Once completed the "set 14 0" order, then I needed only the hard reset

So, this is how it worked.

    Regards

Download the official firmware from i-Mate and try flashing it. You will need to connect the phone to a laptop and run the flash on it. If the computer is not recognizing the phone, you will need to get the phone into serial mode. This forum may help you out.

Where did you get the phone?

Do you have the original SIM card for it?

What SIM card are you using in it?

    In summary :

What is Sim Free? A sim free phone is a phone that is not locked to the sim card of a specific carrier.

What is Unlocked? An unlocked phone is a phone that can work with any sim card and/or GSM service provider. Please note that at least one of the GSM Bands in the phone should match the GSM service prodiver's bands.

What is a Sim Card? A sim card is a small flat rectangle plastic that contains a microchip. This microchips is the heart of your phone, it contains your phone number, your address book, and the necessary information for your phone to work. All sim cards look the same, but the microchip inside is different for every GSM service provider.

What is a GSM service provider? A GSM service provider (carrier) is a company providing you with a working line and phone number. To do this, they will provide you with a sim card.

My GSM service provider does not have sim cards, why? If your service provider does not have sim cards, then it does not use GSM technology. Our phones will not work with non-GSM service providers.

You will need to flash a new firmware to the jasjar, I happen to have the same phone you got there, actually its the same phone just under a diffrent name, O2 XDA EXEC.

all the instructions you will need are on this website
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Universal

If you need more assistance from me I would appriciate if you accept my solution so we can communicate better.

Hi sorry for not responding it happens that I actually went to bed, Yes I updated it on vista also, I don't remember actually what Rom I used but I now have windows mobile 6 on it, if you have any spesific questions let me know, we can even do a remote support session so I can move the mouse and see the screen and help you with it, you got really lucky today, you got someone who happens to have the same phone and real experience with it.

let me know, also my email is nikoht@gmail.com let me know.

When would you be available so we can look into it together?

  • Ekse Jan 14, 2009

    Enter the Bootloader Mode

    http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php...

Bootloader mode: Hold light(1) and power buttons(2) together and
reset with stylus(3). (The light button is on the front edge of the
phone, near the volume slider(1)). In bootloader mode please keep in
mind that the backlight is turned off, therefore the screen is hard to
    read in poor light.

In this mode you can flash in a firmware. I wonder if the phone is unlocked etc. we really need to look into this together over remote support.

When would you be available? I'm on Finland time, its 6:10 in the morning right now, GMT+2

  • Ekse Jan 14, 2009

Let me know when your available and we can solve the problem together.

  • Ekse Jan 14, 2009

Are you able to enter the bootloader mode for firmware flashing? when you are in the bootloader mode is the device detected on the computer?

I will not be available for much longer now, and we will have to get back together later.

You should then download the latest firmware from i-Mate .

Upgrading the firmware will solve the problem mostly.

Problem connecting phone to laptop

I haven't acutally got my P1i and laptop with me so I'll see what I can do from memory. When you put the P1i in file transfer mode it becomes a USB mass storage device and just presents the M2 memory stick in the side of the device as a drive letter in Windows Explorer. However, if in Phone mode it expects the 'mrouter' program to connect the phone to PC Suite using the DCU-60 cable as a serial line. In the system tray you have an mrouter icon which when you right click allows you to select the serial port to connect to the phone. You may need to adjust this recognise the phone. There are also some drivers required for the mrouter interface. Check device manager and make sure there are no yellow question marks in the ports section. You can also use Bluetooth to connect mrouter to the phone, this'll become clear when you look at the port settings! Hope this helps.

Jasjar

When you upgrade to a new firmware version, the phone's memory is completely wiped. It will be very hard to get your information back.

Download the official firmware from i-Mate and try flashing it. You will need to connect the phone to a laptop and run the flash on it. If the computer is not recognizing the phone, you will need to get the phone into serial mode. This forum may help you out.
