1994 GMC Topkick not getting power from the fuel pump. Where is the fuel pump relay located?

Before going there, check your INERTIA SWITCH (INTERTIAL CUTOFF SWITCH). A small accident or a sharp bump can cause the cutoff switch to trip. The switch is located adjacent to the passenger side rear shock tower, and there is a pushbutton to reset (on most Topkick tucks). Carbureted Topkick trucks do not have cutoff switches, and some custom trucks have the inertia switch relocated.

Is there a fuel reset button on my 1996 monti carlo?

Fuel cutoff switches is a Ford thing.Verify 12 volts to the connector at the sending unit in the tank(PCM will run pump for 2 seconds when key turned to "run").If you get 12 volts, and the pump dosen't run when the connector is hooked back up,the pump is bad.

These heaters have defective thermal cutoff switches in the panel. They need to be replaced, but are back ordered everywhere I have looked.

Fuel pump has been replaced 3 times and is not working again. What else in the fuel system can be causing the fuel pump failure.

Burned contacts in the fuel pump cutoff switch can cause this as well as a burnt connector to the cutoff switch, the relay for fuel pump can also cause this problem.

It just stopped working. I know of four of these

If the clock still works and the tray warms up, the thermal cutoff switch is probably toast. Check the solution I posted at http://www.fixya.com/support/t236081-doesnt_work . I have a couple of extra cutoff switches left.

2004 porsche boxer Why does the battery go dead after a month of no use?? the battery is new: My other car can be left idle for 2 to 3 months without a problem

All modern cars have a natural current drain; it's part of having an alternator. In today's vehicles, the parts of the alternator remain energized, as well as a certain few accessories, including your computer. A recommendation: if you aren't going to be driving your car for at least 2 weeks, unhook the battery, or install a battery cutoff switch. This way you don't kill the new battery. Your other car is likely a stroke of luck that enables it to last as long as it does.

Heater fan only works on high speed

usually when the blower motor gets old its starts to draw more current to run. which can pop fuses, burn out resistors and melt wires. also when you go to replace the resistor check the connector for signs of melting or burning you may end up having to replace that conector

Battery Cutoff Switch

Best source for reliable battery cut-off switches I know of would be any speed shop that deals with drag race cars. Most "doorslammer" race cars, (bracket cars through pro-stock) are required to have these switches mounted on the outside of trunk lid... Of course, you can mount them inside the trunk, or anywhere else you wish!
