Question about iiyama ProLite E434S 17" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

Blueish screen I've just come back from 7 months away and my Iiyama Prolite E435s monitor has a strange blueish/purplish tint. I've tried adjusting all the settings and nothing puts it back to normal. The weird (and annoying) thing, is when the "Auto/Exit" button is used to set up the correct picture size etc, the correct colours return. However, as soon as it finishes setting up the picture, it goes back to have this annoying blue-ish tint. So the monitor itself remains capable of displaying the colours correctly. This happens on the monitor when using 2 different laptops, both of which display fine on their built in monitors. So it's not to do with the graphics card. I don't think it is to do with the standard monitor cable, as this had not been plugged or unplugged in the time I've been away. I've seen other people who have had this problem but I have yet to come across a satisfactory solution (other than return to manufacturer - which is sounding quite promising at the moment). Thanks.

Thanks - I've tried using a new cable. No difference.

Elsewhere I've come across a number of people with this monitor having this problem (though no solutions). There is another thing: sometimes when powered on, it cycles through a range of single colours, at about a colour every second or so. I don't remember it doing this before.

Excellent solution (though I have a feeling that, given your name, you got it from: http://www.techspot.com/vb/showthread.ph...
    )

    Thanks, Hamish

Wasn't complaining about you copying it, IMac - posting it here too is a good idea and I would have done the same if I'd been quick enough to beat you to it. I just wanted the TechSpot site to get a bit of credit, esp. after the original suggestion here was to buy a new cable, which just cost me some money and didn't help! Thanks, Hamish

I did get it from there. I'd been looking for a solution for ages so when I found it I thought I'd pass it on to any threads that I'd found while looking for it.

Seriously, whenever I have seen a monitor with a blue tint it has always been the VGA cable. I would try replacing that cable and see what happens.

Iiyama prolite e1902wsv white screen , no picture

From time to time, I've the same white screen problem with my IIYAMA E1902WSV.

I can resolve that issue with a reset to factory settings.
1- Turn ON power (blue led)
2- Push on the MENU button and keep the button pushed while
pulling out the power cord.
3- Plug the power cord back while keeping the MENU button
pushed.

You should see the picture again.

My whole screen has a blueish green tint

  • Make sure the plugs are hard into the sockets, one loose pin can cause strange colour problems.
  • A faulty signal cable between PC and monitor can also cause colour problems, try a different cable if possible
  • Try it on a different computer to find out whether the computer or the monitor is the problem. If it's the monitor and none of the above works, it will need service or replacement. If it's the computer, your video card is likely to be the problem.

Connect a different monitor to your computer, if it still displays the same fault the the problem is the video card and you need a replacement.

Monitor is blueish

If the Blueish problem appears try play around with the VGA cord and see if the Colors comes back, if not, try hiting the monitor to see if the lines and color problem comes bcak to normal. If not your monitor's circuit board needs some dry solder, it could be the cold solder problem. Cheers.

Prolite e435s iiyama screen

Hello,

Monitor screens will have color tints when any of pins of the VGA connector is damaged or bent(I assume you are using a 15 pin VGA connection :) ) Please remove the monitor connector cable and check if you have bent or damaged pin at either side of the cable.

If it does not resolves the issue, replace any devices or equipments that may have electro magnetic fields like an UPS from the premises of the monitor.

Also, you can try resetting monitor. All the monitor will have an option for reset in the Menu.

Hope this works!
Good Luck

Colour changing

I found this on another site:
[QUOTE=numbnutjas]I had the same problem along with lots of others who bought this great prolite monitor.

Whenever you turn the power off for more than five seconds the monitor looses an important bit of info of a hidden menu. Iilyama are not keen on publicizing the fact their monitor has a bug!

Follow these steps very carefully, it might not work the first time but it does work I promise.

Make sure that the moniter power button is off.

Unplug monitor from mains ( the auto exit button should flash red after about five seconds and you hear a popping sound.)

plug monitor back in mains.

hold down + and - on the monitor

now hold down power button on monitor

let go of power when power button when the green led lights up

let go of + and - buttons

wait a few seconds and press menu, a hidden menu will appear in the top right

use the + and - buttons to move the hilighted option over the auto colour option in the menu
push the menu button.

It does work, but if you have any problems: email at : miamoo2038 at hotmail dot co dot uk
