most of the time when that happens first thing you do is make sure water is getting to the solenoid for the ice maker if you have a water despencer you have water the solenoid for the ice maker is normally found in the back of frig near bottom pull frig out till you can get behind it look where water line goes into the frig solenoids for water and ice maker should be there. leave frig plugged up have someone use the water despencer feel whitch one that is replace the other one
Your freezer temperature is not coldenough, inspect for hardness of frozen foods. Make sure that the temperature is 5 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.
Carefully feel the side of the ice maker if itis warm the unit is stuck in heat for release mode.
Check and replace control module.Call repairman to check this.
Thanks
Check to make sure that the dispenser flap is closing properly. Sometimes an eyelet will break off and cause it to see ackwardly. They make ita kit to fix that even thought they try to get you to purchase a new door.
sounds like your ice maker has a degraded coating on the mold that forms the cubes. if you remove it from the freezer, then you can see if the coating is coming off. if so then you need to replace the ice maker.
Always remember Safty First to turn off power and water supply and only turn them on as needed!!!
I checked water supply it was great and then check the valves (solinoids) and the power and all was good. The next thing I checked was the water from the supply valve to the filter at the same time I put some water in the ice maker to make sure it was working (leave it to make sure it drops the ice). The filter was new but was defective. Water went to the filter but did not return any to the despencer or the ice maker. During the different test I performed I also found that the lines hook to valves that the filter plugged into and since the new filter fixed the problem those valves were ok but could have been the problem therefore I suggest if you have this problem remove the filter and depress the small valve with a small object (like a hollowed out pen) and call for the water to be dispenced. If the water does not spray out then you have another problem...I went threw the whole system to find a bad filter, which I thought in the begining but since the other filter was new I done all of the above.
Although I figured out the problem myself this is a great Web Site. Thank You
