Since the wheel is hard to turn it could be a lot of things,
like the belt, or a damaged or broken part, or a part needing
adjustment, taking it to a repair shop and having it checked is the
best idea.

Memory Craft 6000

First remove the sewing foot, then take out the 2 screws holding the needle plate down, hold the bobbin case over where it sits and turn the hand wheel slowly till it fits flat in the hook case, once it has gone back in flat refit the needle plate with the 2 fixing screws, and put the sewing foot back, it should now work ok

Do you have a stitch pattern chosen? Is it set for winding the bobbin? Check your manual, if you cannot find it download one for free, at brother-usa.com

Problems winding bobbin, is all of a sudden partway through fill, and the thread slipps below bobbin, and turns around metal post. Cannot get thread off post.

The reason is probably because the winder post is not perfectly vertical, check that and also make sure you put the thread round the pretension wheel before you wind a bobbin, getting to the inside to adjust it is very difficult.

While sewing the bobbin case moves, wheel locks up, needle locks

Im not sure if this will help but thought I would pass it along. My Pfaff 6122 tells me to check bobbin for thread unrolling clockwise before you place it back in the machine. I had mine turned to un roll counter clockwise, this is wrong, the bobbin will fall out when you pull on the thread while you are holding it in your hand. You may just keep putting it in backwards. Hope this works for you. J.R.
