SOURCE: My whirlpool 6th sense washing

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Whirlpool's 'FE' stands for 'Filter Error'.

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C

SOURCE: Washer makes loud rattling noise when spinning

first check to make is to be sure machine is level using a 2ft level ck level side to side and front to rear see if level if not adjust either by adjusting level legs on bottom of machine or using wooden door shims available @ building supply store , if you don't have level use two small clear water glasses with a exact amount of water in each put a line on each glass measure with rule and make sure line is in exactly same spot on each glass fill to line and place one on rear of machine and one on front level till lines match then repeat process side to side

Probably you have a clogged water pump clean it if not clogged then you have to know how to check if you have voltage to it, do so if you have 120 volts then it's your water pump http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-washer-drain-pump-280187-ap3953640.html

Hi, my whirlpool aquasteam 6th sense washing machine has a fault, its flashing a red symbol on the screen . . what is this?

The F05 fault is nothing to do with what soaps you use.. Its a little red wire located at the front bottom centre of your aquasteam washer that has come lose or detached. A task to get to it but pretty easy and dodgey repair men would have your pants down for such a simple thing

My washer is making a grinding, metalic noise when the agitator is supposed to be moving. Water enters and drains fine. The agitator moves very little and makes a great racket. Help!

Could be the belt or the bearing or both...
You need to remove the belt and test if agitator moves easy by hand, then it means bearing is OK

Washer gets badly out of balance and makes a racket and moves

The most likely cause is a bad or broken balancing spring and or shock absorber connecting the drum to the washing machine housing.

Bosch Nexxt Premium WFMC6400UC Front Load Washer I liked this washing machine for the first three years. For the last year I have had nothing but trouble. I replaced the gasket once which as not too bad....

I have seen this problem on more than one front loader.
Most of the time it is either the rear drum bearing, or the bearing housing. A quick way to check this is to remove the rear access panel and expose the large pulley and belt assembly. You should find a flat belt, and possibly a spring loaded tensioner (not all models have a tensioner).
Release the tensioner if present, then the belt,
Visually inspect the large bearing located just before the pulley. If it shows a trail of dark grease flowing down then you have found your problem.
If not.
Lift up on the large pulley while keeping an eye on the hanging supports, so they don't dislodge. If the bearing is bad there should already be a quite audible squeal to a very loud roar.
If it is visible, look at the bearing mount to see if there are any metal fragments, or mushrooming.
If the bearing wiggles in it's mount you have a defective bearing mount. If the bearing wiggles on the shaft then you have damaged ball bearings (some have roller bearings).

Could be your bearings for sure. And if you have been using the machine while the racket continued......you could be ruining you axle as well. So make sure your axle is fine before you change your bearings.......
