SOURCE: Chainsaw pull cord wont tension up

Its almost certainly made by Poulan.
This may help you find an IPL at Sears, they are available:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/modelHelp.pd?modelNumberId=29
This lists all Poulans. It will be difficult to find your saw but it is here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
It sounds as though the starter spring is broken.
This thread explains how to reinstall the spring.

The IPL for your saw shows all the parts and provides an idea of how they fit together. GL

SOURCE: i have a craftsman 55cc

Flooding is caused by a plugged air cleaner, or lack of control by the diaphragm in the lower chamber of the carburetor. Usually, the diaphragm becomes hard or cracks and is unable to regulate the fuel volume in the lower chamber. There is also a needle valve in the lower chamber which the diaphragm controls that can become defective. Go to: http://www.drystacked.com for a 12 page article on Walbro brand carburetor theory and troubleshooting. This applies fairly well to other carburetor brands as well. Hope this helps!

Can't find the spark plug gap for 2.0/16" chainsaw

Hi robert,

I find the owners manual for an 18", 55cc saw. The plug gap was .025.

If you give me your model # (it's a long number), I can find your specific saw.

Thanks,

Handie Andie

I have a new 18'' craftsman, couldnt resist the price 42 cc, but i want a bigger chain, it has a standard 3/8 small chain for trimming branches, I know to do this will require a different bar and sprocket...

Many time the big chain stores (like Sears, Wal Mart, etc.) will have products made to their own specs (re:cheaper), which makes getting replacement parts difficult at best and impossible at worst. Another reason they do this is so that you won't be able to find the exact same model elsewhere at a better price and force them to match or beat it. It's entirely possible that if you can't find the longer bar & chain at Sears, you won't find it anywhere.

I need a bow blade to fit a 455 husqvarna

I make no guarantee of the applicability of this research. I recommend you contact "CheapChainsawParts.com" (or 1 (800) 438-0668) to verify this application.

Methodology to arrive at the bow part number "HQ-100"
An Oregon bar for a Husky 455 is mount/oiler configuration "095" ( the last part of any Oregon replacement bar).
A Oregon bar for a Husky 55 is also mount/oiler configuration "095".
You can check my Oregon research here:
Oregon Bar & Chain Selector
http://www.oregonchain.com/pro/lookups/selguide.aspx?BusId=OCS&SellReg=USA&LangId=ENG

This bow
http://www.cheapchainsawparts.com/cmp_HQ-100_part.html
is the replacement bow for a Husky 55; it should also fit a Husky 455. I make no affirmation there are no modifications required, applicability of this application, or even that it will fit.

Please reply below with what you found . TIA

The bar/chain oiler has stopped working. What to check? Yes there is oil in the saw. If I have to replace parts, how do I remove the clutch?

Just an idea, but I would remove the bar and back flush the oiling port hole with some air pressure. Then if you are able to get the line and pump clear, I would flush out the old oil.

Could you maybe have got some sawdust into the oil reservoir?
