If using cable you may be able to route signal to rear audio and video inputs--doubt a vcr will help.

disconnect power from set and or a box if used--wait several minutes and power up again--HDMI can cause issues and does not like connections being made if units are on.

SOURCE: LG 42LC7D TV does not want to chg channels after 5 min of use

There are some inductors that are out of spec. LG's original SB said to replace some of these with a jumper, but it only lasted a couple months.

You need to have the Total Main Assy replaced.

SOURCE: TV freezes when switching to a digital channel

The problem your describing can be contributed to your cable box. Depending on your cable company there are times when the box has trouble translating the signal to the tv. You tv is operating normally. Suggest to the cable company to switch your box.

SOURCE: TV stuck on one channel

Remove batteries from remote, and test again the touch buttons on TV with remote batteries out. This to exclude the possibility that remote has a stuck button.

If the problem persists , then it is probably a faulty IR board on TV (the one that gets IR signal from remote), or a faulty touch button switch.

Magnavox sdtv tuner i set it by mistake in setup in rf and now i get nothing but power light i cant get back to setup to fix what i did

If you have a friend with a TV that has yellow/red/white connectors, for composite video and left/right audio, connect using the RCA plugs to that TV. Then you can see the 'menu' settings.
You could also connect the Y/R/W connectors to a VCR that has those inputs {most} and connect the VCR RF output on channel 3/4 to the RF {cable connector or 300ohm converter} input on the TV. The VCR would convert the RCA jack stuff to channel 3 or channel 4.

VCR/DVD player DVP3340V/17

Are you using the cable connectors to go into the VCR, and then from the VCR to the TV?

If so, turn the VCR on. Put the TV on channel 3 or 4 (depending on which one you have it set to. If you are unsure, try both channels one at a time) Press the VCR/DVD button so the display on the VCR says VCR (not DVD). Now, you should be able to change the channel with your VCR remote control. If not, you have a problem with your cables. Make sure your cable from the wall goes to RF IN on your VCR. The RF Out on the VCR should go to your TV ANT In or TV RF In.

If you have successfully gotten your TV to display the TV station shown on the front of your VCR, then all you have to do is put in a tape, select the channel you want to record and press the record button.

If you want to watch another channel while you're recording, press the TV/VCR button on the VCR remote, then use your TV remote to change channels.

When you want to stop recording, press the stop button, put the TV back onto channel 3 or 4 (depending on what you have it set to) and press the TV/VCR button on your VCR again. From here you can rewind and view your recording.

Sylvania 6313CB 13" TV/VCR replacemnt remote

We have a Sylvania 6313CB TV/VCR combo.  I bought a universal remote and the code would not work when I tried to program it to the "TV" button using all those possible codes listed in the books.  So, on the universal remote, there was a button named "VCR" and when I programmed in the code "0000" all worked.  This was a $6.00 universal remote named "One For All"  we bought at the Big Lots store.
Specifically, here is what I did:
Turned TV on Pushed the "VCR" button and light blinked once Pushed and held the "set" button until it blinked twice Released the "set" button and entered the numbers "0000" Pushed the on/off button and it worked including volume, channel up/down and channel change by entering the channel number.
Hope this works for you too.

Video mode

I went to add/delete channels in my menu on my symphonic and it let me scroll through the channels, make sure you have them all set to add (by pushing the volume buttons to make them light blue instead of purple)....after adding all of your channels (or just the one if you use dish) just power the tv off while on a channel and then power back on and you should have tv.

Remote control not responding

Perhaps you can try what I do when my KV24FV300 runs through channels and will not stop.  Hard to watch and remote will not work.  Nothing works but on and off from set.

Sony Says:  Take all batteries out of ALL remotes that you use in any way for that set, VCR, etc.  ALL batteries out.  Turn TV off at set.  Unplug TV.  Wait at least 15 minutes then replace all batteries in ALL remotes.  Plug TV back in and turn TV on from set.

Maybe, just maybe it will work.  If it does not work why not call Sony, they always say that cannot happen but they have a solution for it.
