SOURCE: The inside of my Speed Queen washer smells badly .

Front load washers seal up tight with door closed. This causes the smell. Leave the door open in between loads.

The detergent holder always holds a little water.

SOURCE: Machine making loud noise on spins cycle

Well, the only time the washer (speedqueen) is noisy on spin is if one or both the bearings are faulty. Normally when you get a leak, it means the hub/flange and seal kit need replacement and this also includes the top bearing because when soap suds leak past the seal assembly it drips directly onto the bearing. The acidic properties in the soap suds eats the grease in the bearing which ends up becoming defective. One can also get an anoying squeek if a bottom base gasket is worn or removed. This would be audible even on wash cycle. Conclusion, check the bearing on top of gearbox.

SOURCE: My Speed Queen dumble dryer

HI....Does the MOTOR works or rotates. If it still heres no problem with that...if you smell something bad on your machine there something wrong with the motor wires coil..possibly overloading can cause problem with the motor..motor will produce more power beyond its capacity then its coil becomes hotter that gradually burnt the coil. You can check by removing the back cover of the machine.Unscrew it properly.locate the motor as well as the shafting..If yuo smell something bad with the motor possibly coils got burnt. you can check both ends of the motor terminals using a MULTITESTER .Unplug first the machine set the MULTITESTER to OHMS to the lowest value ..Now if moves a little means there is no short circuit happened but if it does the moves its maximum value then it has been shpt circuited. The armature coils might been short circuited

What's color code for wires in back of dryer

Yes, here you go.
You should have 3 or 4 wires on/in the electric wire from the socket to the back of the dryer.
Open the plate and look at where the wires go to be hooked on.
You will see 3 screws or nuts in a row, left to right.
Carefully loosen these nuts or screws, be SUPER careful not the get them too loose, or they will fall off, sometimes down inside the machine.
Your electric cord has 2 hot wires, they are black and red.
These hot wires go on the right and the left screws, or nuts, but absolutely NOT in the middle!
The hot wires are interchangeable, the can go to the right or to the left.
You should also have a white wire in the cord, and that one, which should be in the middle of a 3 wire cord, attaches in the middle.
It is a ground.
If you have a 4 wire cord, you will have another wire, maybe blue or green.
That attaches to the case or the body of the dryer.
If your dryer has an extra green wire that comes from the inside and is fastened under a screw, that is where the 4th wire goes.
Be blessed.

Hi I have a dryer (Speed Queen) and I took off the front panel and cleaned everything and even in back, When I turn it on, I see the flame, But it does not get hot enough inside to dry the clothes, Is...

Clothes not drying, but dryer runs & heats
1. Defective operating thermostat---test thermostat,, replace if defective
2. Fan or it's pulley loose on shaft--tighten set screw
3. Incorrect heat or timer setting--reset timer
4. Clothes too wet when placed in dryer--wring clothes before putting them in dryer
5. clogged lint screen or duct ( little air motion)---clean

I need to change powercord from a g & e electric ends into like a square black block, going inside dryer.

It depends on what type of cord you are changing to. I think what you're describing as a sqaure black block is the terminal block.
If your new cord has four wires, should be black, white, red, and green. If this is the case, it goes like this:
Black to the far left screw (L2)
White to the middle screw (N)
Red to the far right (L1)
Green goes to the cabinet, usually behind a green screw.
If this is the case, you're changing from a 3 wire cord to a 4 wire cord, and your 3 wire cord is still connected; then behind the middle screw is probably a strap connected underneath it. When you change to the 4 wire cord, bend and push the strap up out of the way for future use if needed. It acts as the ground for the 3 wire cord.
With the 4 wire cord, the green mounted to the cabinet acts as the ground.

If i'm wrong with the above, and you're intalling a 3 wire cord; they could all be the same color (the wires). If so, just put....
The far left wire to the far left screw.
The middle wire to the middle screw with the strap attached to it.
the far right wire to the far right screw.

I hope this is helpful, and that I havent completely misunderstood you and wasted your time. I would be glad to help any further if you need it.

Need to know, looking at the back of dryer where does the red wire go (left screw or right screw?)

The white wire goes to the center screw in the terminal strip each side of that are the hot wires red & Black.
The green wire connects to a chassis ground screw. If there are none then drill a hole in a good metal spot near as possible to the terminal strip and screw it there tightly.

this is free help...please find time to rate me....good luck

Neptune MDE5500AY Electric Dryer: electrical hook up...

If this dryer doesn't have a cord, you need to go to hardware store for a dryer cord, usually 4 wires 30 amp. the black and the red wires connect to the 2 brass screws with red and black wires already on the other side of the terminals. (oh, you should use a strain relief connector to run thru the knock out (hole) for the cable. The white wire connects to silver screw, which should have a white wire on the inside connection. Now the green wire connects to the green terminal, if there is one, or any other screw that should be marked as ground on the inside somewhere.
This should do it unless you don't have the dryer receptacles wired in yet.

Sounds like something is loose inside the dry drum

Unplug dryer!!

There should be 2 5/16th screws on the bottom panel in front. Then there are 2 more on bottom of top panel. Take off wires to door switch. Take off 4 screws to front bulkhead. Pull it off. Note how belt goes on. Take it off and pull drum.

I would first rotate drum by hand and see where noise is coming from. If inside one of the baffles in drum, you can easily lossen up screws to remove baffle to get things out.

Replace electric cord

First,follow manufacturers instructions if possible.

If you need a 4-wire cord you will attach the black wire to one of the gold or brass colored screws on the dryer hookup and the red wire to the other brass or gold screw. The white wire will connect to the silver screw and the green wire will connect to the green screw or to a screw that is connected to the frame of the dryer.

If you need a 3 wire cord you will place the two outside wires (if looking at the cord if laying flat), one on each brass or gold screw.Next there should be a metal strip or jumper that you will place to connect the green screw connected to the frame of the dryer and the silver or white screw together. Then place the white, or center wire, on the silver or white screw.

Instructions that came with the dryer should show you how to do this.

Make sure the cord is unplugged before unhooking the hold cord or installing the new one.

If you see something different that what i describe or need anything else just write.
