Question about Polaroid FLM-2632 Television

1 Answer

Ratio I have tried to fix the problem of the auto ration but I'm still really stuck. I've sorted the colour problem out as this was the output setting in Sky itself. As for the ratio though I'm still at a loss. I replaced my old (10 years old) Bush standard tv which worked fine with my Sky box with the Polariod. The Bush would auto correct so I know the output from the Sky box must be ok. When the polaroid is connected and placed in auto mode, everything is stretched to widescreen and widescreen only. I'm sure this is just something basic and would be really greatful if anyone could help.

Re: Ratio

Does the sky box have a setting for output ratio? If so try adjusting it and see what the TV does.

My sanyo flat screen just went to a grey/green colour on peoples skins only. What and how can i ajust it. i've tried to adjust the colour, but it stays the same.

If you look with the model number the set MAY have a reset to try and failing that I would suspect the main board in the set which processes all information is at fault.

If using any kind of box or a receiver unplug them and plug back after a while.

Same issue when using only a DVD etc?

HD programs work fine, however, the standard pictures are distorted. I had this once before and someone fixed it but not sure how.

You probably need to to turn your aspect ration on the TV down. Newer HD screens use a 16:9 aspect ratio for HD content which is a wide screen format. Standard definition TVs and programs use a 4:3 aspect ratio. Most flat screen TVs have an option to display in 4:3. This option is most often found in Menu/Setting>Video Options>Aspect Ratio. For standard definition programming you want 4:3, for HD you want 16:9.

Picture size too large, especially horizontal

Try to press the zoom in or zoom out button on the remote control
if that didn't work, try to check the aspect ratio of your TV. You can see the aspect ration on the menu. set it to 4:3 standards and if it's HD TV set it to 1080i.

You are trying to display standard definition TV 4:3 ASPECT RATIO to fill up the 16:9 screen and that is what you will get. You need to use the 'APSECT', 'P.MODE', or 'WIDE' button to set correct aspect ration to match the video source aspect ratio. Please see you owner manual for more details.

LG 47'' LCD HDTV 120Hz - Incorrect Picture Width

I just had this problem and got it solved. The issue is that your cable box is likely set to the wrong aspect ratio, so your tv will not be able to display the picture properly without this setting changed. On my cable box(Pace), you need to turn the power off to the cable box using the remote. Then hit the menu button on the remote and a new menu will appear on the screen. Change the aspect ratio to 16:9 and you should be all set. Hope this works for you too.

LCD tv "burn in"..

there is really no way to get rid of burn in. If you can return your set I would as the only way to fix it is with a new panel which is ver exspensive.

Polaroid FLU-2632

I had the same problem. It's caused by the picture setting on your Sky box. Go ibto Services, select Picture Settings and set the mode to PAL not RGB.

Aspect Ratio not responding/always in "Full" mode

Normally, when I see this problem in the customer's home, I find the main culprit to be the cable box. The remote for the cable box may have a button on it to change the format or picture size. You may have to go into the menu of the cable box to change the format setting. Hope this helps.
