Reebok 8100 es wont go any faster then .4mph

My treadmill wont respond to speed adjustments. It will only go .4mph. When I press a different setting it shows that on the display but will eventually show the actual speed of .4 mph. It doesn't matter if I am standing on it or not. No belt slippage or squeaks.

Please adjust the speed sensor, see the diagram, test it for open or faulty, clean it, and tight the plug very well.
However you must RUN the software calibration for easy diagnose, and troubleshooting and fix it. Go under HOOD motor, and follow the steps .
God bless you

SOURCE: Proform 350s crosstrainer treadmill; surges 3 MPH to 4MPH

Walking Belt is Worn: The only certain way to test for a worn walking belt is to take a DC amp draw (if you have a DC treadmill) or an AC draw (for AC). Trying to look at the belt or a feel test is highly unreliable. Better tests, if you lack a DC ammeter (they are expensive for a good one), are a coast test or an incline test. The coast test is to get on the treadmill as the lowest incline setting and walk on the treadmill at 3 MPH. Pull the safety key and it should take you 2-3 full steps to stop (this is a general rule…some like a few Tunturi models stop on a dime even with a healthy belt but for most models, this tests works well upon). Fewer steps indicate high friction. The incline test is to put the treadmill at max incline and walk on it at 3 MPH. If the treadmill operates normally at max incline but bogs down at minimum incline, replace the walking belt. Gravity takes over for the drive system eliminating much of the friction problem. On some heavily worn walking belts, this test will not eliminate the problem. Go to your local hard ware store and purchase silicone spray. Apply Lubricant by lift one side of the running belt spray contents length wise starting at motor shroud to the back end repeat this process on the other side. If this unit bogs down again then you will have replace the running belt and possibly the deck

SOURCE: My Reebok RX 5000 treadmill

Hi,

Open the treadmill case and Just spray WD-40 oil on the belt joints and Just oil the shaft and roller area.Sometimes when belt slips it is designed to shut off to prevent further damage. If still the problem persist then,
Check the safety key
Check the house breaker and the outlet.
Check the 15 amp breaker on the treadmill (if equipped). a. If the breaker has tripped, let the treadmill sit for 15 minutes then power back up. If it trips again but in a shorter amount of time, you have a belt/deck friction problem.
b. If the breaker has tripped but tripped on power up, check for a short-to-ground condition in the electrical parts of the treadmill.
Check all the wiring connections. A loose or corroded wire can cause a brief loss of power that will not result in an error code.
Check the membrane switches. If there is a stuck switch, especially the power switch, it can cause this condition.
Check for an overheating motor. There is a thermal switch in the motor if the motor has blue wires. This can be due to a faulty motor or high belt/deck friction problems. Check for charring in the motor wiring, wiring connectors, or a burning smell.
Check for an overheating console. The console does not run on high voltage so if it is overheating you need to replace the PCB.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

How do you shut this thing off . the lights on the display stay on. reebok 8700es

Hols the stop button and the speed decrease button down while inserting or attatching the key (magnet). There should be a "d" on the screen, press the incline down button and it should go away. As soon as it disappears, your done. Just pull the key off and your display will shut off.

Hope this helps
