SOURCE: Kitchenaid ice maker

Is it sticking all the way up in off position? If so there is a redesigned arm to stop this problem. Instead of just a wire arm, it has a plastic flap on the bottom that hinges. This keeps the arm from jumping into the off position when it cycles. Any whirlpool/kitchenaid servicer should have one and show you how to replace it. Takes just a few seconds. If it is sticking half way down or lower, then it is binding up somewhere. You should be able to raise it about 2" and it fall freely back into place. Post back if this is what is happening.

SOURCE: Ice maker not getting water. Everything else seems

You will have to remove the icemaker and look inside the water fill tube at the rear wall of the freezer.
The water line may be frozen closed.
If so,take a hair dryer and thaw it out.

This manual will explain other test to complete.

SOURCE: KitchenAid refrigerator ice maker is

It is either going to be the water valve or the ice maker itself. Nothing else except freezer performance itself is involved. The ice maker mold thermostat reaches 28 degrees and the ice mold heater and motor are activated by it. As soon as the ice moves a bit, the heater is shut down and the ice fingers carry on over to drop them into the bucket; shorly before the end of the cycle the ice maker fills itself back up, she comes to a screachin halt and waits once more for the ice mold thermostat to fire up another harvest. So what goes wrong? Faulty water valve. bad ice mold thermostat, poor freezer performance. Replace the water valve first. if that don't fix it then replace the ice maker. Then you will be back in the ice making business.

Ksrs251 ice maker will not stop making ice and it is overflowing. Sensor seems to be out and off switch not working.

Hi,

Although your model number supplied is incomplete, you have an optic sensor in your unit, so either your sensor has failed or has be rewired. Your optics are located on the side wall of the freezer section and use a laser to detect ice volume. Does it produce when you turn this off? If so, replace the optics Part Number 4389102, this part does come with both boards for both sides. Check it first by turning it off and see if production has stopped, if it is shorted it will cause continuous production of ice.

Good Luck

Ice maker not getting water. Everything else seems to work fine. I can put water manually into the ice maker and get ice. But no water from the line. It is a KSRS251 superbra side by side Kitchenaid model.

Ice maker

By manually moving the ejector blades you have now broken the ice maker module. (The brain and the motor of the icemaker). Kitchenaid had a batch of thermostats that arent working properly in these Indoor ice makers. I reccommend getting an entire new IDIM icemaker. You will have the improved module whith stronger gears (however you still cannot manually move them) and the improved thermostat.

Kitchen Aid Ice maker Stopped working

I would suggest not buying a KitchenAid. I have the same problem with my ice maker. Have had nothing but problems with every KitchenAid product that I have ever owned. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

All of there appliances are second rate. That is "The KitchenAid Difference"
