Question about Logitech X-540 Multimedia Surround Sound Speaker System (6-Piece)

1 Answer

LogitechX540 speakers hooked them up to our PC makes raspy sound

We just bought these speakers because we thought our other speakers that came with the computer were bad. They did the same thing they sounded raspy and crackly. So it must be something with the PC . We have a T6536 e-machiness desktop. Maybe something is not hooked up right. Could you throw a few different solutions our way. So we have a few options here. It is terrible to have a surround sound system and it sounds crappy.
Thanks, Alan

Why does my harman-kardon ts5 woofer fludder?

If it wobbles around without any sound being payed, but the amplifier is powered up, you may have a problem in the amplifier.
If it only does it on certain sources, give me some more information on when and how it happens.
If it simply sounds raspy when it tries to play music, either the speaker is blown or the power amp is (or possibly other things in the chain, but those are most likely).

I bought Philips auxiliary speakers for my Samsung monitor (used with HP desktop computer) which has no speakers. They worked fine until I moved...upon hooking them up in my new location...I do not have...

Hi, I think you connected it wrong. Make sure it is in the green plug on the back of the PC. If that does not fix it. You may need a new audio card. Good luck.

My Dell AS501 does not produces sound. I have

make sure the power is hooked to the back of the monitor, and that the speakers are hooked into it. make sure it is switched on and volume is at 50% or higher. if it still doesnt work, try hooking an mp3 player to the speaker jack. if they work, its the computer. if it doesnt work, replace the speakers.

My computer says ''no audio device detected'' in the control pannel

Whats happened is that your "Audio Drivers" have been removed.
Your audio device is inside your PC /laptop, probably on a bit of your computer called the motherboard, but in order for your computer to recognise and talk to your audio device it needs a bit of software called a driver. We need to find out what type of PC / Laptop you have, make another post on here with as much info on you PC/laptop as you can find, and state that you are looking for the audio drivers, myself or one of the other experts will then find the right drivers for you and tell you how to install them

Install cd for monsoon

What makes you think you need special drivers for your Monsoon speakers? Do other speakers work properly when hooked up to your PC? Borrow a pair from somebody else if you don't have any other speakers you can try, and check. If they don't work either, Monsoon drivers are not your problem. I'm not saying nobody ever needs drivers for speakers to work with a computer, but normally, drivers for the speakers are not the issue if you're not getting sound through them.

The sound card driver and sound settings in BIOS, sound settings in Windows and for the sound card, and physical issues about the way the speakers are hooked up or whether the speakers themselves are functional are much more common sources of trouble than drivers for the speakers.

Start your troubleshooting process with this webpage:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000034.htm

If that one doesn't seem to address your issue, try websearching for other options with a phrase such as: troubleshoot no sound PC speakers.

I have dell speakers hooked up to my dell pc but NO sound.

  • Ensure the connection first if the connectors are hooked up to the correct port.
  • check if the speaker is receiving the power there should be an indicator lit up
  • If you have an integrated sound card make sure they are not disabled in BIOS.
  • Then check if the sound drivers are properly installed.
  • check the volume control to ensure if mute is checked(uncheck it) also ensure the volume level it needs to be set to a level so that it's audible to you.
  • Do check the speakers with another devioce to ensure the speakers are fine and working.
  • FOR MORE SPECIFIC INFO PLEASE PROVIDE THE MODEL AND BRAND DETAILS OF THE PC AND SPEAKER AND OS

New headphones

Try plugging them into the jacks on the back of the PC case. Make sure you connect the right connector to the right jack. If this works, then there is a problem with the front jacks. Sometimes they are left unattached when the PC is assembled.

Also, check in control panel under sounds and make sure you have a sound scheme selected. If it says no sound scheme, select one, the click NO if Save sound scheme prompt comes up.
