The solution to this problem is to get this person or company to complete the job from your required request to repair your refrigerator. It sounds like your refrigerator compressor is short cycling or there is a lack of Freon. An experienced technician should have see these conditions on the first visit. Complain and try to get the job done correctly. Thanks Sea Breeze

You will need to replace the thermister. The thermister reads back to the control board and helps to regulate the temperature by the settings. Here is the part to order.

SOURCE: Temperature Problem - Amana (Maytag) Refrigerator Model AFD2535DES

This comes with a 1 yr warranty from date of purchase.  Look and see if there is a thick frost buildup on the back panel in the freezer section.  If no frost, shut the freezer door and feel for air flow out of the top middle vent in the fridge section.  I would remove that vent cover to make sure the damper is open.  If the damper is closed push it open then feel for air flow.  If no air flow is detected then the evaporator fan motor is bad which is a very commom problem on this model, in fact the most common problem.  If the damper is shut and when you hold it open you do feel air flow then the damper is bad.  Let me know what you find.

SOURCE: Beverage Air

1. check for dirty condenser sometimes if its dirty enough, it'll trip the compressor.
2. if condenser is dirty, well pull out the old garden hose and hose down the condenser (turn off unit first!)(i don't want any accidents... je je je)

if you did step 2 and nothing yet, suspect faulty relay/ overload/ start capacitor failure (relay and start capacitors fail more often then the overload.

hope to he of some help today.

SOURCE: JennAir #JCD2389GES not cooling refrig at all.

Well guess what. Jenn Air / Maytag now has this issue as a recall. So just call them and tell them the fridge is not cooling. They will schedule a recall service appointment. Do be sure they schedule it as a "recall" service appointment or you will be charged.

That sure beats pulling out the hair dryer every time it happens!

Service number is 1-800-462-9824

Good luck

check the damper vent door located behind a plastic cover between the freezer and refrige compartments, also make sure the evaporator fan is operating to blow cold air through this door,if the door isnt open, then either its frozen shut due to moisture or the motor that controls it is bad

Frigidare refrig. It seems like Freezer still working but not refrig. Temp is now 56 in refrig part. Refrig is not even 2 years old. Fan seemed to be working in refrig earlier but now not at all.

check the damper vent door between the two compartments to make sure its open to let the cold air in from the freezer then make sure the evaporator fan is operating to help push air thru this door, sometimes these doors freeze shut or if its a motor driven vent door the motor could be bad too

Hello...we have a JCD2289AT that is 6 years old approx...frezer and ice maker are working fine butr refrig seems to not hear a cold temerature even after setting to the coldest setting. I pulled the unit...

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Can't change temperature

If the freezer is staying cold it sounds like a defrost system problem. A bad timer, heater or thermostat can cause frost to build up on the coils and block air flow to the refrig side. Check out ACMEHowTo.com for troubleshooting the defroster problem

10 year old refrigerator is not cooling in the refrigerator section. Freezer still working. Will cleaning the coils solve problem?

check the damper door between the refrig and freezer compartment and make sure its not iced up and cannot open and let in cold air from the freezer, you may need to remove some plastic diverters that channel the cold air from this door, then if its iced up deice it with a hair dryer and watch movement when you adjust cold control in refrige now

My refrig is occasionly freezing the food in the refrig part of my side by side. We just cleaned the coils after about 4 years. Can you help

Im assuming it is a GE PSS26MSRSS???

You will need to check the temperature sensor(s) and the damper. Is the temp display showing it is colder than the selected temp (recommend 37)?? If so it is likely the damper is broken, and it is open --- letting too much air come in from the freezer and getting colder than you set it.

Swan fridge freezer-freezer dones,nt get down to temperature but fridge is working fine.if you turn up the thermostat the fridge acts like a freezer

There is a damper door that opens and closes when you move the thermostat. I would bet the door is functioning incorrectly. All the cooling of a refrig comes from the freezer and gets blown into the refrigerator compartment. If that damper door is open too far it will have constant freezer air blowing in....and if it's not open enough obviously the refrig will not get cool. Look at the upper left corner of your refrigerator, the center rear wall of the refrig or just feel around for a vent will cool air blowing out of it......Then take it apart and see if anything is broken.

Jenn-Aire JCD2389GES Side by Side: Frig not cooling fully - freezer fine

i'm thinking that maybe an air duct is either blocked or the damper isnt opening. In the freezer compartment at the top right side there is a cover that is held in place by 1 screw. (look at item number 35 here). remove this cover and make sure ice is not blocking it up. if that is ok, then check the damper control to be sure it is opening and closing properly. The damper is located on the refrig side in the control cover (look at item# 8 here).
