Printer communication problem

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/ieDcBl. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

This printer comes in different flavors of windows, please make sure that you have installed the Lexmark P3150 All in one drivers for Windows 7 Ultimate version, because that problem comes only when right printer is not installed with appropriate version of Windows, please let me know that works or not

Google, [ How do I install drivers and utilities for lexmark p3150 series printer. Another way is to install drivers for lexmark 1200 series, make sure you include the windows version you are useing. Good luck because it's tricky.

if your printer have power and there seems to be no other problem rather than un able to communicate try replacing your printer or usb cable a bad cable with tend to these and if you have a bad cable the printer will not detect youre printer

I regret to inform you that the hardware/technology of this printer would not support the 32/64 bit processes of the Vista OS. That is why there will be no driver developed for this machine.

how to use my lexmark

Hey there,
It's frustrating I know!
It doesn't work in Vista. It is only supported by Windows up to XP. I now have another PC running XP just so I can use my printer!

Right-clicking on the driver application and clicking Properties to Enable XP Compatibility in the Compatibility tab doesn't work either, it just doesn't have support beyond XP, so you'll have to do what I did and load up XP on another machine if you want to use you printer!

I am guessing your new PC has Windows Vista.

Although Lexmark doesn't have Vista drivers available for that model, people have had success using Windows 2000 drivers with many older Lexmark printers.

It may work, or it may not. The only other option is to wait for Lexmark to release the Vista driver. They are always adding Vista drivers for the older models.
