LUX TX500E thermostat flashing fan. Have installed batteries backwards and reset to factory settings installed new batteries as well. Still flashing fan. Furnace not working.

With this thermostat, it may be flashing FAN because the HVAC (any heating or cooling unit) unit isn't working. In the winter, the pilot light for the heat may not be lit or the air intake/exhaust could be blocked. In the summer, the AC coils could be frozen or there may be another problem. Go to the HVAC unit and look for any lights at or near the control board. Check the outside unit for problems as well.

If there is no problem with the HVAC, try resetting the software in the thermostat. Use a bent paperclip to press the reset button above the Next button; the reset button is inside a small recessed spot. If the problem persists, try a different thermostat. If a different thermostat doesn't work, the HVAC system needs to be serviced.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the type of furnace you have (electric, gas, oil). That might help determine what issue you need to look for on the main unit.

Where is reset button on my outside a/c unit

If you are talking about the condensor that sits outside, there are high pressure and low pressure devices that have a red button on the top of them, turn off power and push the button. They are sometines located inside the unit under the fan. Generally there are none and the unit has internal overloads that kick it out. they reset themselves after the compressor cools down. If it resets after cooling down then ask yourself why it got hot. use a hose and clean the coils around the unit.sometimes helps. make sure fan is running on the condensor outside. It should come on first.

I have a Sharp SPC502 atmoic clock/weather station. No matter what I do I cannot get the outside temp/humidy to show up on the main station. Have tried changing channels, different alignments,...

Try pushing the reset button on the inside of the battery compartment of the remote unit then push the reset button on the back of the main unit (you'll need a paperclip or tooth pick to push the buttons). If that fails I'd start from scratch by removing the batteries from both the remote unit and the main unit then replace the batteries to the remote unit first and push reset, then replace the batteries to the main unit and if necessary push the reset button on the main unit too. Hope this helps.

My outside fan will not run and the inside unit runs constantly. can't push the reset button on unit outside

Your out door unit fan motor not runs due to pressure not build up at Heat mode. If its cool mode only fan runs with compressor when thermostat calls for it.

Without having technical knowledge, don't press any reset button. Hope it's helpful?

I have a Ruud Model UAFD-036JAS Air Achiever 9 split system. Does the outside unit have a reset button? The breakers are on yet no action from fan. Please help.

You have a blown or two blown fuses that will need to be replaced on the emergency shut off next to your condensor outside.

Rheem heat pump, have to keep pushing red reset button for fan

Either the fan motor is going out OR the compressor may need a boost of power from a quick start.

When the compressor gets old, sometimes it requires a little extra power to get it going.

Your unit should be under work warranty if they installed it.

Our dog chewed on some of the wires, which I've reattached before and had the thing work. This time they won't reconnect, though the unit itself can be run by pushing a button in the unit.

if this is a central unit and the button you refer to is on the outside condensing unit, the wiring is propbably not the issue, the manual reset button is generally a high pressure safety switch, when you reset it if it runs for a few minutes then shuts off again unit you can reset it, you probably need to wash your outdoor coil. (it may look clean from the outside and still be blocked from the inside) shut off the power, verify that power is off, remoave the top of the unit and wash with a hose from the inside of the coil to the outside, make sure you clean all ares of the coil, use the hose pressure to "push' any debris through the coil then rinse the outside, reassemble, let dry completely and then start the system

My outside air conditioner fan is not turning, but when I push the reset button it runs for a while and begins cooling? Then it stops turning and gets hot inside again? What could be the deal?? It was 112...

if the button your pushing is in the unit outside it is a manual reset for high head pressure this cuts off the unit to protect the compressor, you need to clean the coil .turn the unit off and gently push water through the coil in an up and down motion till water comes out clean see if that helps

My clock will not display the outside temp. after battery replace

Try replacing the AA batteries in the main clock/display unit - that worked for me, then you'll probably need to press the reset button next to the AA batteries, and maybe the reset button next to the AAA batteries in the remote unit - press reset on the main unit first. My remote is now registering and the red light is flashing, but I don't know how to reset to the correct time and date - it's been scanning for a while and found nothing...
