I get an E2 error on my Brother CP7500 and the button lever is all the way up

A stitch other than the buttonhole or bar tack stitch was selected and the foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected) while the buttonhole lever is lowered.

Raise the buttonhole lever before continuing the operation.
Each time a key pressed or an incorrect operation is performed, a beep is sounded.
  • For a correct operation
    One beep is sounded.
  • If an incorrect operation is performed
Two or four beeps are sounded.
  • If the machine locks up, for example, because the thread is tangled
The sewing machine continues to beep for four seconds.
    The machine automatically stops.
Be sure to check for the cause of the error, and correct it before continuing to sew.

I have one of these machines and have tried to reproduce your symptoms.

I have played with the automatic buttonhole device and the two sensors and have not been able to obtain this fault.

The only way I can get the same result as you is if I hold in the needle up/down switch while the machine is switched on. The machine then beeps continuously, will not operate and remains beeping until switched off. This suggests to me that your switch is either faulty or the button is stuck in the pressed position.

If you know how to get the covers off your machine, you could disconnect it from the controller board but it's quite tricky to identify the correct wires as many of the sensors and other devices on the machine use the same colours.

Machine beeps and stops sewing, no error message displayed

sounds like not through the tension plate (on top) right... rethread and make sure you hold the thread taunt toward you as you putt through top tension... you should hear a slight click and some resistance...

Beep sound on Kenmore 19233 sewing machine

I had the same problem. Through trial and error, I found the problem was with the thread tension. Usually the thread became wrapped around the spool holder as it was coming off the spool. As you continue to press the pedal, tension is created. When you release the pedal, some slack develop in the threading process and you are able to sew a few more stitches before the beeping starts again. If the thread is caught on the spool holder, simple re-thread the machine. That generally works for me. If it continues to happen, place you thread in a cup behind the machine and thread as usual. You can also purchase an inexpensive thread holder. I made one out of a wood block and other odds and ends found around the house.
