Whirlpool AKP 951 timer does not work

My Bottom Oven does not work on by Whirlpool AKP 951. The oven has been switching itself off a lot, or would not turn on. Now the Clock/Timer has gone blank, so I cannot turn the oven on (Hob and Top Oven are ok)

SOURCE: oven not heating

You need to replace the fan oven element.
access to it is by removing the rear panel in the oven, there you will see the element.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: my oven has stopped working

Hello Janet,

Can you let me know the brand and model number of the oven please. Your oven should work again as soon as you cancel the timer or set the clock and the digits stop flashing, but I can't tell you how to do this without knowing which oven you have.

Thanks,
BElectric

Whirlpool Oven 6AKG569IX does not operate. Lights do not come on to controls when switched on

It is possible that, believe it or not, that if this is a single oven under worktop type that it is actually connected with a 13 amp plug and the fuse in this may have blown. You will have to pull it out to check. It is very unlikely there is a internal fuse in the oven itself.

The center clock-oven module no longer lights up and the oven doesn't work, but the burners on top work. model rf341bxk. The oven light still works. Is there a fuse blown that I can replace?

Hello, welcome to fixya.

Unfortunately many modern ranges do not incorporate fuses into the control panels, other than the 15amp outlets used for plugging in external devices, they are typically the resettable type fuse.

Many manufactures have gone away from the typically glass fuse style circuit interrupters of previous ranges of say 15-20yrs ago and older.

If the clock display is not illuminated nor functioning, but the surface element functions appear fine, it is likely a fault within the clock ( also referred to as a timer or erc ) itself. Check for possible burnt or loose wires going into the timer such as L1 or L2 etc.

**Please unplug the range or turn off the 40amp breaker at your homes service panel before attempting any service to the range**

The part for the timer/clock is # 3196967 and retails for between $167 to $233 at "searspartsdirect.com" and "repairclinic.com" respectively as I type this on June 6/2010.

Hope this info was helpful to you...even if it isn't great news. Please take a moment and rate the info I provided and thanks for visiting "fixya".

Turn off the timer on an old imperial st george

I have this exact same oven and this "feature" annoys me no end. To turn it off ... turn the clock dial to PAST the time that the timer dial shows. EG: If your timer dial is showing 6, turn the clock dial so that it rolls past 6 o'clock. This will pop out the timer dial and thus turn off the timer, allowing you to use the oven normally.

To stop accidentally pushing/turning that timer dial, I removed the knobs. Good luck.

Noisy oven

Probably the fan bearing is worn out, looks like you will need a new fan.

Make sure there is not any obvious visual obstruction.
