Question about Technics SCEH790 CD Shelf System

No sound from my SCEH790 system from turntable...

I have purchased a Technics SCEH790 system, and works great. However, I have connected a turntable to the Aux, but when I play records I get no sound at all. The speakers work fine as I have played CD's and no problems.

Any suggestions gratefully recieved!

Hi...
The aux wont work on a TT . You need a turntable pre-amp. Then you can plug it into the aux jacks.

Hi, you need to connect the turntable to your amp via a phono input connection. If no phono input available then a pre amp needs to be used between turntable and amp to up the signal. Cheers John. Styluscity@gmail.com

PHONO PREamp. Does that suggest anything?

No picture necessary. YOU can see it. I can visualize.

Turntable to the Pre-amp IN. Preamp OUT to ANY available RCA input (usually AUX,).

Technics SL1500 will not connect to new Sony STR-DH100 receiver

Unfortunately, a turntable runs on a different frequency, and if there is no button at the back of your receiver to change the frequency setting on that channel, it wont give you any sound. the best bet is to go to your music store and purchase a small DJ mixer. connect that to your receiver, and run the turntable through your mixer. the mixer will have the neccesary flip switches and "ground" connections

Technics turntable plays but no sound with Sherwood receiver

The problem is the fact that the new receiver has no phono input. The phono input has an extra stage of amplification built in. Your receiver is working fine. You need to purchase a phono pre-amp. These run around $20. Connect the turntable to the preamp and the presmp output to any line level input on your new receiver and everything will work as expected.
