Question about Canon PIXMA iP3000 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

What setting should i use on a canon pixma 3000 to print black on a transparency fim for screen printing purposes?

Hi, please help:( I just bought a Canon pixma 3000 because I 've been having the worst time printing a film positive on transparency to burn a screen (screen printing rookie here). I heard Canon is just as good as Epson, so I got one and here I am....still sitting with a wet transparency that does not look as defined in resolution as it should. Also, BIG NEW problem is; when I set the media to photo paper or glossy or anything other than plain paper really, it prints in yellow instead of black! Why and what setting should I be using to get this done the right way??

SOURCE: When I print photos, they have uniform vertical streaks.

Issue: Banded or streaked prints
Solution: Change the Print Quality Settings (Windows)

Change the Print Quality Settings (Windows) The Quality setting controls how finely ink droplets are placed on the printed page. Depending on the type of paper being used a higher Print Quality setting does not always insure a better print. Print speed will decrease as the Print Quality setting is increased. Follow the instructions below to change the print quality settings in the Canon printer driver for the Windows operating system through a printing application.

  1. Click 'Properties' in the Print dialog box.

Note: Depending on the Application software, 'Properties' may be displayed as 'Preferences'.

  2. Set the desired print quality in the 'Print Quality' section.

  3. Select 'High', 'Standard', or 'Draft / Fast'.
To set more detailed print quality settings, follow this procedure:
  1. Select 'Custom' and click 'Set'.

    win_main_print_quality.jpg

  2. In the Set Print Quality dialog drag the slide bar from 'Fast' to 'Fine' to select the print quality.

    win_print_quality_slider.jpg

Note: There are five options in 'Quality'. However, selectable options are limited depending on the media type.

  3. Select 'Auto', 'Dither', or 'Diffusion' from the 'Halftoning' section.

Hi there, I have a canon pixma MP460 printer, some very kindly (?) changed my settings so that everything prints in black and white, how do I change settings back to colour and black and white please

Hello,

Just go to "Control Panel" double click "Printers" and right-clicking your printer model to show "Printing Preferences..." and select "Printing Preferences..."

On the "Main" tab of "Printing Preferences" window, uncheck the "Grayscale Printing" radio button.

Hope it helps.

Can I print on transparencies with my canon mp150 ? If so, what settings/icc do I use?

Yes, but they need to be specially made ink jet transparencies such as this:

Amazon Inkjet Transparencies

Canon recommends their own CF-102 transparency sheets. Set paper thickness lever to the Left and the Media Type to Transparency.

See page 17 of the manual for a list of all Canon specialty papers. Here is a link to the manual:

Thanks for using Fixya.

Printer will not print in black ink -we have bought new cartridges -still not printing in black ink - can u help

Check your print settings in the program you are using to print and make sure it's not set at color only. You will see these settings in the print... or print preview screen.

I know the next thing sounds kida odd, but I had customers who forgot to take the tape off the cartridge before installing it into the printer. Hope this helps!

Can the Canon MX310 print on transparencies?

Manual does not mention Transparencies.
Manual states that It will print T-shirt transfers:

T-Shirt Transfers TR-301
This paper is used to create iron-on transfers. The image is printed inverted.
Paper Support Load Limit: 1 sheet
Paper Output Tray Load Limit:
We recommend that you remove the previously printed sheet from the Paper Output Tray before continuously printing to avoid blurs and discoloration.
Paper Thickness Lever: Right
Media Type:
Printer Driver Setting: T-Shirt Transfers

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
