SOURCE: switching power supply ??

For your purposes there is no difference: all you need to know is the voltage your WD drive requires, and the maximum current load it needs. Any regulated DC power supply with that voltage and *at least* that current will do.

Not-so-technically, a "regular" power supply will supply power at the correct voltage by "discarding" a portion of the extra potential. A "switching" power supply will shunt and switch the extra power away, so that instead of being "lost", it is "not requested" from the uplink grid. In theory a perfect switching supply will have no losses, and therefore dissipate no waste heat (in practice there will be some losses, and cooling will be needed). The important thing, though, is that a switching power supply can deliver twice as much power as a "normal" supply, and the same power in a half as big package.

SOURCE: I have samsung(hitron) tv purchased

Give me the model number for more accurate diagnoses....
It seems as though there is a DC problem on the power supply, it could be a simple fuse. Or it could be that a fault on another board is causing the power supply to shut its self down.....The TV is in self protect mode because of a short an open component somewhere. Like I said it could be just a fuse has blown. If the indicator light is on then its probably not a fuse problem, but rather an electrical fault.

There is a problem with the water supply. This could be a symptom of kinked hoses, clogged filters in the intake valve or low water pressure.

Turn off the water shut-off valves and disconnect the hoses from the washer and then the shut-off valves. Place a bucket under the hoses to catch any water that drains out of the hoses. Check the filters both on the washer and at the shut-off side of the hoses. Sometimes, you need to use needle-nose pliers to pull out the filters from the intake on the washer. Make sure that the hoses are not kinked when you reinstall them. You may want to replace the hoses. There are some hoses that will seal themselves if they detect a leak. This will slow the water flow to the washer.

While you have the hoses off the washer's intake, test the water pressure by measuring the water flow into your bucket when you open the valves.

Also make sure that the washer discharge hose is not below the washer's water level for your load size. This leads to the water flowing in and then out of the washer before it fills the machine.

I hope this helps.

New installation and dishwasher will not shut off

I will ask and answer some clarification questions rather than send messages back and forth. Lets see if we can get you going in the right direction.

The machine fills constantly with water. It will run even with the dial turned off.

Running and filling are two different operations so I'll make some assumptions.

There is a door interlock switch that tells the unit the door is closed and it is OK to run. That must be working or you would be dead. As is the float valve or it would turn the unit off all together.

I am going to assume from what you say it is the constant filling that is the problem. If that is so then it is the intake solenoid that is jammed in the open position or the timer is stuck in the fill position.

If it is filling with the power on or off then the solenoid is jammed. Test this by shutting off the breaker and turn on the water supply. You can also try leaving the door open. If water enters the unit for sure the solenoid is stuck open. An easy fix, remove the unit, the solenoid is located where the water supply line connects. Turn off the breaker, simply disconnect the water, power, and unscrew the part.

Depending on the unit it is possible although unlikely the the intake water supply and drain lines are reversed.

If with the power off and the water on there is not water flow then the timer is at fault.

Either way if it is a new machine then warranty should cover it.

If not a new machine you can replace these parts easily.

Check my profile and look at Dishwasher 101 tips and tricks. It explains more on how to solve and replace.

Hope this give you some direction. Please rate if so.

Water comming outof the smal air intake valve on top of tank

Check the shut-off valve on the tank to make sure it's shutting the water supply off as it should. If the tank has a mechanical arm(the flush lever), check it to see that it is allowing the shut off valve to completely shut the water off.

Water coming into dishwasher when not running

Removed intake water valve assembly and found a piece of plastic wedged in intake port preventing valve from closing. Piece of plastic was old filler tube from old hot water tank which disintegrated and got into hot water pipes in home. Similar pieces of plastic have affected water mixer valves at various sinks in home and have also plugged aeration screens.

Washing machine leaking at the connection to water pipe.

Hi vks1,

Your water is coming out into the washer even when you water supply is switched off at the pipe?

Disconnect the washer hose from the water pipe and see if the water still comes out of the water pipe even when the water valve is shut off!
If the answer is YES!

This is a plumbing malfunction.
The valve on your water pipe is not closing completely!
There is a washer in the water valve attached to the end of the valve stem that more than likely needs replacement.

And not a washer malfunction.

If I understand your explanation correctly this is the cause.

If this is not the problem then the washer has a water inlet that is stuck open.

But this dose not make sense if the external water valve is shut off there should not be water reaching the washer inlet faulty or not!

I believe I figured out the problem for you and you will be fine when the valve is fixed or the valve stem replaced!
Bless You,

Dishwasher doesn't fill

Dishwasher Doesn't Fill If a dishwasher runs but doesn't fill, either something is wrong with its water supply system or it is draining water too soon. 1) First make sure the water is turned on. Check the hot water supply stop valve, normally located under the sink. Open it all the way by turning it counterclockwise. If there is no reason this would have been turned off since the last time the dishwasher worked, go on to the next step. 2) Turn off the power to the dishwasher. 3) When the dishwasher is cool, look for the float inside the dishwasher --usually a small plastic dome or cylinder mounted inside at the tub's base, near the front. When you move most types of floats up and down, you can hear them click because they trip a lever (they are spring loaded). Lift out the float mechanism and clean around the float tube; many floats must be disconnected from below--to do this you'll have to remove the lower access panel. Rinse off the float, then replace it in the tube and be sure it moves up and down freely. 4) If you're experienced with minor repair work shut off the hot water valve to the appliance. Locate the water intake valve, behind the dishwasher's bottom front panel, disassemble the valve to reveal the screen, clean debris from the screen, and reassemble. If the screen doesn't appear to be blocked, call a repairperson (they will probably need to replace the water intake valve). 5) If none of this helps, call a repairperson. Any of several parts, including water inlet valve, pressure switch, and the timer or selector switch, may be faulty.
