Corning ware microwave crisper

How do I use it, it looks like a pan lid but the side that looks like it would be the inside, has writing that says do not cook on this side

I found this Corningware Microwave Crisper at a thrift store, and it sounds exactly like the one described. I would love to know where to get the manual/recipe book for it. I have read that it should be preheated for several minutes in the microwave, whereupon the surface is hot and food can be cooked as in a skillet, perhaps? But I'd sure like to get more specific with it, microwave experimentation can cause fires, you know!

Need replacement pot lid

Measure how wide the lid is across and check at a Corning Ware store or go online and look at the Corning Ware Website or search for a glass lid 16 inches or whatever width it is.

I have a Tower Slow Cooker Model No 2917C and need a new lid to replace a broekn one. Any ideas where I might find one? Thanks

Hello Judith, in my searching for a manual for my cooker I came across this website for Russell Hobbs spares. This link will take you directly to the page associated with your lid. Sadly it is obsolete - use a normal pot lid or start searching the charity shops!

Can I safely use a Corning Ware casserole on the barbeque? I want to roast pork with sauerkraut. Barbara Beehner

I put the Corning Ware casserole in a foil roasting pan with several layers of foil in the bottom. This prevented the blackening of the casserole bottom and protected it from the direct flames. It worked great. Pork and sauerkraut were delicious

Need a replacement knob for Corning Crockpot Model NO SC-3544

Go to the Hard ware store and buy a knob from a universal variable light fixture, there are many to chose from.
- $2 in the cabinet hardware section of Home Depot. Now have a stylish silver & white handle on my crock pot lid. The bolt and grommet were re-used, several little tiny o-rings were added as spacers, along with a drop of Loc-tite.
