When you insert disc into console, the console hums and makes a clicking sound. It will do this for a couple of seconds then it beeps once and says please insert disc in console. The game is out of warranty an MS is not very helpful. Any suggestions

When last did you clean the pick up lens on the console? Sounds like the pick up lens is not reading the disc, any hard collisions on the console recently? If you have the correct lens cleaner at hand I would advise a cleaning asap, see if this solves the issue.
XBOX360 console wont start up....then the things to check are>>>
1.check ur power cable 2.check whether u have inserted the disc properly and
precisely. 3.check the insertion of memory card... 4.check the video
port....... still the same problem, don worry check out the
following Repair Guide.....CLICK
If the 360 is shutting itself off, then this has nothing to do with the game, and you have some form of power supply problem. Try a different game. If it still does it, you most likely need a new power adapter. If you are getting an error message (unplayable disc/dirty or damaged disc) Then the most likely cause is your optical lens in the DVD drive is dying.
If your console is hooked up to Xboxlive and has a Hard Drive connected to it you will automatically be prompted to update upon insertion of the original Xbox title. Your console will restart when it's ready and you should be able to play.
*If you do not have a Hard drive you cannot play original Xbox titles.* The original Xbox Memory unit will not work in Xbox360 and the original Xbox games have no access to the Xbox360 memory units.
If you have a Hard Drive but your Xbox360 is not hooked up to the internet you can either order a disc for free from Microsoft by going Here
or burn the needed information onto a disc by going Here
theres a known problem with the hitashi dvd drive in the xbox 360.
the only solution to this is a home repair job, look up on youtube on how to do this, although this isnt recommended as it voids warranty.
so the best way is definitely just to ring microsoft and send ur console in for repair.
