Re: Is the tv that I have bought about 6 years ago ready...
6 year old tv probably not digital ready. The converter box will work if tv is on channel 3 and you use a UHF antenna. Most converter box connections have 75 ohm connectors, your tv may have the round connector to accept the input signal. If you have screw on terminals on the tv you will have to go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a matching transformer to go between the tv and the converter box. UHF antenna can be made out of a coat hanger. Just make a circle clean the paint off ends and attach. Or just buy a digital booster antenna at WalMart.

it meens the tv set is in dtv and the dtv conection is not set up.
hd tv is a red blue a green cable.
and the antena conection needs to come from a converter box if signal is coming from antena if from sat or cable you should have a hd box that feeds your set.
hope this helps.

Its tuner is NTSC, which will not tune in digital stations. I didn't see a DTV tuner mentioned anywhere on the specs, so don't think it will work. I myself have one and will soon purchase a converter box with the $40 rebate from the government.
Check the back of the tv if there are at least two coaxial inputs on the back. They are the type of inputs for a standard cable that screws into the back of the tv and would look like they have threads on them. If your tv only has one coaxial input it probably is not DTV ready. Alternativley, use a search engine site (google, ask, yahoo etc.) type in the make and model number of the tv. Some websites go into detail as to how many inputs a tv has as well as what resolutions they support, dtv compatible, hd compatible etc.
HI, Joe !
You probably have a short somewhere. Where?
Possibly in the High Voltage circuit.Maybe the horizontal out put circuit.
This is a common signal, especially RCA's, that there is a heavy load on one of the power supplies--- like a shorted transistor or ?
