hello,the problem to this could either be as a result of the following,
1.proably someone has tampered with the network settings,if this is ensured ok,i guess the phones network should work as supposed.
2.it could be a bad network terminal,i.e the antenna which is an hardware repair,you will have to get another another from a mobile phone accessories shop to replace the faulty one or check if it can be soldered.

try making 'Master Reset' (settings->master reset).if this doesn't work try flashing phone's firmware

that will be because of two reason...one will be network strength and other will be antenna get damaged....If network will be ok, then second will be the reason...So you can give your phone to authorised service center and get it serviced..Then this will get over...Hope this will help you....

OK i have just fixed my W995 that also came up with No network coverage out of the blue. Also when i went to charge it it said i needed a SE battery.

All this problem is, software. Yes simply all your phone needs is a software update. Sony Ericsson are known for disconnecting peoples phones if they do not have the latest software.
