SOURCE: Items sometimes freeze on refrigerator side of unit - model GSS25LGMA

It is most likely a bad damper motor.  This is where the cool air comes out into the fridge section.  On this model it is a fairly common problem and comes a whole assembly.  The part # is WR49X10091 and will cost anywhere from $100 to $122.  Knowing this model I would bet this is your problem.  If the damper is bad and stuck open cold air will just keep blowing in.  It is suppose to open and close based on the temp setting.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

this particualr refrig is notorious for this. check your controls ( your freezer control as well set to 4 max) any higher and the refrig is running longer, generating more cold then needed, behind the left hand crisper is a few slots( the fresh air return) by default the coldest spot in refrig, i usuallly would reccomend to my cust not to keep high water or thin walled vegies in there such as carrots cukes tom and lettuce, perfect beer and fresh /frozen defrosting meat to be though, if you ever looked at the newest bottom freezers they've pushed up the drawers and added a deli pantry, running the width of frig

SOURCE: Vegetable and fruit crisper drawers freezing foods

I had the same problem. Apparently the problem is the main control board. According to the technician that came out to fix mine there is a design flaw and these boards are very sensitive and can blow a circuit or malfunction from the slightest power surge. What happens then is that the control board doesn't "tell" the fan to turn on and off at the right time so the fridge and freezer warm up too much before the fan kicks in and then it cools everything down but since the fan isn't running at the correct intervals and circulating the air all of the cold air settles to the bottom which causes the produce in the drawers to freeze while the top shelves get warmer. I had done a fair bit of research before calling GE and came to the conclusion that this was a common problem. So I pressed them and was able to get the fee for the part waived (before I made the service call appointment) which was around $150. The part now has a 5 year waranty which I find funny, because I'm not sure why it wouldn't have that upfront as my refridgerator is only 2 years old. Whatever!! Unfortunately, unless you have indepth knowledge of refridgerator repair there is no way around the service call and labor. Anyone buying a new model of refridgerator (any company) should consider an extended waranty. The service tech also told me that all refridgerators made after 2001 are required, by law, to have an electronic mother board which in all likelyhood will fail at somepoint prior to when you are ready to buy a new fridge!

Good Lucak!

SOURCE: Amana Bx22s5W freezes food in the crispers

I've had the same issue with an Amana BX21TL. In my case, the problem was that the various air flow adjustments were all directing the cold air to the bottom of the fridge, underneath the vegetable crispers.

What I've done to fix this was:
1- Made sure there was a tight seal between the vent opening at the back of the fridge (at about mid-height) and the rubber/plastic duct that directs air to the meat/cheese drawer.
2- Made sure that the adjustable opening at the back of the meat/cheese drawer was fully open.
3- Made sure that the adjustable opening at the back of both vegetable crispers were fully open.

Hope this helps.

I have a Samsung side by side refrigerator Model No: RS21DCSV. The water and ice dispenser are working. However, the water is no longer chilled?

Water is stored in a tube bundle located behind the crisper drawers (bottom, back of the refrigerator) and is chilled to the temp of the refrigerator (perhaps 40 degrees F). This tubing holds approx. 16-32 ounces (less than a liter) and incoming water pushes the chilled water to the dispenser, but also begins to warm the output water temps.

The only way to get colder water is the set the refrigerator to a lower temperature. But be careful that the temps are not so low as to cause other food items to freeze.

GE profile side by side fridge freezing and thawing randomly

Defrost entire unit, put food in coolers with ice and unplug. Wait 24 hours with doors open. Any clogs in freon lines should be gone, plug unit back in and see how it works.

My Kenmore side by side is fine, except for freezing everything in the crisper drawers.

The coldest place in your fridge is in the crisper drawers, manufactures know this and they even put heaters under the floor of your fridge to try to heat it up a bit in there, if you set your freezer temperture to low there will be less cold air current that flows into your fridge but it will flow in over a longer period of time, that air is about -22C so it will be blowing on your items in your crisper for a long time and it will probably freeze them, all very confusing and complicated but it may help to turn your controles for your freezer to a warmer setting, on the other hand if you only open your fridge a few times a day the cold air being denser will settle in the bottom of the fridge and freeze the crisper area, not much you can do about this, except eat more food... :-)

I'm having problems with my Adora fridge. First, the contents in the crispers started freezing. The storage tank behind the drawers seems to be frozen. Now the water won't dispense. Ice is being made...

Your model has a WR60X10132 or 10055112 Damper and Fan that regulates temperatures between the freezer and fresh food compartment. The part has been recently updated. Refrigerator air inlet cover/damper kit with fan motor. Damper and fan assembly has been updated to prevent freezing in the refrigerator.
(The manufacturer has replaced part number wr60x10132 with this item, part number WR49X10091.) (Manufacturer part number WR49X10091 is RepairClinic item number 1055112.)

The bottom crisper in my refrigerator is freezing everything....w

Look all the way to the rear of the control console in the fresh food compartment. Look up into the opening with a mirror. There should be a styrofoam diffuser (61005543) visible. If this is missing or damaged (many people think it packing material and remove it) it needs to be replaced. It spreads the air out rather than let it go right down the back wall to the crisper area.
One other thing to check is a tiny slot at the right rear of the same control console. a metered flow of air comes out the slot to the barrel shaped cylinder with the cold control capillary wrapped around it. Sometimes the slot gets water in it and freezes over. The unit will run too long and the cold air will settle during the off cycle and freeze items at the bottom. More often than not, when the slot freezes over, other items in the fresh food compartment will freeze......not just the bottom items.

Vegetable and fruit crisper drawers freezing foods

You have a defective thermistor and damper control in the fresh food or a bad control board.
Check the thermistor first.
Also, adjust the return air damper at the bottom left side of the fresh food sction to warmer.
