Question about Video Cameras
When I insert a tape into my video camera recorder and push the door closed, the recorder is supposed to finish closing the door by dropping the tape down into the recorder. Instead, I hear a few clicks and then the recorder gives up trying and opens the door. Could it be that it's testing to make sure the tape reels can spin before accepting the tape and that I need to replace the tape? That sounds better than having to get the player itself repaired.

I have the same problem as gskillman
Sony says it qualifies for a fla rate repair -- $201 plus taxes!!! Say what? This camera is only a couople of years old and has hardly ever been used.
