Remote Quit working

Sometimes it works but most of the time it will not. Tonight the one battery became hot to the point where it would burn you. Who makes Initial any how. I've searched and found nothing other than places selling them.

Re: Remote Quit working

Let's tackle the last question first. Initial makes Initial. You can visit their site at: from their click support, download owner's manuals or whatever... Now to the first question: You should probably replace that remote. The original sells for $14.99 right on the Initial web site. I'd strongly suggest replacing it. The batteries getting that hot sounds like a direct short, not to mention the potential for hurting you if they explode. Hope this helps Bill

VO37LHDTV10A 37 in Remote malfunctioning

Cheapest route is to get a universal remote and start over. Most remotes have their life span. Sometimes shorter. Any abuse of the remote by dropping, getting wet, etc will make it quit. Hazards of a little piece of equipment we don't see as important UNTIL it does not work!

should be under warranty but the remote itself can be tested by any shop--also some digital cameras when remote pointed at them in a dim room will react on their display screen with a flash when remote pointed at camera and buttons pressed on the remote.

My remote is no longer working to my insignia 42" tv

First verify whether its an issue with the tv or the remote. If you have a digital camera or a phone with a camera point it towards the front of the remote control when you are hitting a button. a red light should blink. This infrared light can't be seen by the human eye but it can through a camera. If you can see it then it's an issue with the tv which would be more costly to repair. If it's the remote try new batteries or purchase a direct replacement or universal remote.
thank you,

The remote control is not working because it became wet. Changing batterys is not working, may I buy another? Jim

Take the batteries out of the remote, and let it sit for a day or two and it should be fine. You can even use a hair dryer to dissipate the water in the remote and it will work sooner. You can also buy a universal remote.

Tv remote quit working

The remote put out IR (INFRARED) signal that human eyes cannot see, you need to use your digital camera to see it, just point the remote at the camera's lens, you should see flashing light on your camera screen when any remote buttons is pushed.
You may have problem with the IR receiver in your TV, but find out first if the remote is putting out the signals

worst case will be the main logic board.

Remote quit comes on and goes off by itself at various times

Sometimes Buttons on remote control "stick" underneath the faceplate. It's possible the on/off button is jammed. A lot of times when a button is jammed the other buttons fail to work.

Could also be the reason you needed to replace the batteries with a button being continously pushed will drain the battery life.

Push every button on the remote and kinda wiggle each button while pushing to possibly see if its stuck.

Hope this helps.

Well I have three suggestions for you. First off I wouldn't recommend including personal information including your full name and address on a place such as this. There are alot of crooks out there. Second, try unplugging the television and taking the batteries out of the remote control at the same time. Leave it like this for atleast 5 minutes and then plug it back in and replace the remote with new batteries. If that doesn't correct the problem, my next suggestion is to buy a new replacement ILO Remote Control, a good site is but there are other sites out there that sell the original replacement remote control. Hopefully this helps solve your problem!

You can also try to take out the batteries and push all of the buttons with the batteries out of the remote. Then put the batteries back in and push the power button on the remote. If this doesnt work press the two TV buttons at the same time and the remote should be fine.
