Problem for Zenith DVB211 DVD Player

The problem is with my Zenith DVB211. I recently bought a new remote control for my media systems. After programming it, my DVD player will not read disks. It says that No disk is in and the disk indicator light will go out when I put a disk in. Does something have to be reset or what could the problem be?

- It seems like I go through an awful lot of DVD players. This is the second unit that has gone bad in a year.

I think it is just a coincidence you bought the remote at the same time. Sounds to me like the pickup in the unit is bad (Laser).
