with great difficulty - these belts are so tight!there is a special tool for doing it but there are other ways
one way i have used is to make a spanish windlass from belt to bottom of machine. when belt is level with motor spindle, push belt on and release spanish windlass. could also try levering belt on with a screwdriver
another method is to get a short piece of tubing that will fit over motor spindle. put belt over tube, lever down and slip belt on. this is the best way
SOURCE: how to fit a belt
open case
loop belt around bits
close case
more particularly
Unplug dryer
pull dryer away from wall
remove 1 screw each side at back of top plate
slide top plate backwards and lift off
undo 1 screw each side of front kickplate
tlit front panel up
unplug door switch
set front panel aside
careful of control panel its V.fragile
(I lay the dryer on its back)
pull out old belt and bits of belt
loop new belt round drum at wear marks
pull tensioner to end of travel against spring
loop belt round motor pulley & both tensioner wheels(most creda) 1 wheel (old)
relax tensioner
rotate drum by hand to make sure belt wont jump off
reassemble in reverse order
creda uses hotpoint parts

Hi.
On some models it is possible to fit the belt on the tensioning pulley or pulleys , the wrong way.
Assuming you have the correct belt, then I suggest you try the belt on the pulley a different way.
Hope this helps.

Put belt around spindle then pull pulleys apart and rest onto belt.
I am assuming that the spring which holds the pulleys together is still in place.
Please post back if any further assistance needed.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

hello dave to do this you'll have to take the front panel off so you can pull the tumbler out so you can get to your pully and tensioner on the bottom on the dryer, loop the belt on the pully and keep tension on it while you slip the tumbler back in now loop the belt around the tumbler and after the tumber is sitting on your glides spin the tumbler till the belt is in place,if you can have somebody help you its easyer putting the tumbler back in with 2 people while keeping the belt on the pully on the bottom of the dryer. any other problems or questions let me know i've dont mine about 6 months age its a little pain in the **** but not inpossable
