with great difficulty - these belts are so tight!there is a special tool for doing it but there are other ways
one way i have used is to make a spanish windlass from belt to bottom of machine. when belt is level with motor spindle, push belt on and release spanish windlass. could also try levering belt on with a screwdriver
another method is to get a short piece of tubing that will fit over motor spindle. put belt over tube, lever down and slip belt on. this is the best way

SOURCE: I need to fit a new belt to a Creda Tumble Dryer

Hi.
On some models it is possible to fit the belt on the tensioning pulley or pulleys , the wrong way.
Assuming you have the correct belt, then I suggest you try the belt on the pulley a different way.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: fitting new belt to Hotpoint9320w tumble dryer

Put belt around spindle then pull pulleys apart and rest onto belt.
I am assuming that the spring which holds the pulleys together is still in place.
Please post back if any further assistance needed.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

New belt is very tight, so you have to use more strength. Put it on motor and all other on "drum". Spin it easily and slowly but with strength until its done.

Be carefully, use gloves.

Simpson Maxidry Tumble dryer (Cloths dryer) How

Hi there, There is a switch at the bottom of the dryer. It has a groove for the spring to fit around. Then the spring goes through the metal tag with the holes in the pulley. The pulleys 2 prongs then fits into the slot near the motor. The belt goes through the pulley and around the motor wheel. When fitting the drum, tape the belt at three points on the drum with the machine door facing down making installation easier. Once installed remove the tape. The dryer now works like a dream. Hi

If you can hear the motor running and have also checked the belt tension and they are O.K., then the only thing I can think of is the Motor pulley, where the belt sits on.

Check that out and make sure it is not loose on the motor shaft, so that the motor turns but the pulley slips.

I need to fit a new belt to a Creda Tumble Dryer

There should be some kind of tensioner around the motor or one of the pully's. The other problem could be that the belt you bought is the wrong one for your model. If you still have the old belt, measure the new belt against the old one and the new belt should be slightly smaller. I hope this info helps.

I need to puy a new belt onto my creda dryer model number 37742

Remove the old belt making note of the pullys that it goes around. The belt should have a make and model number on it. You can order a replacement online or go to your local hardware or Sears store. After receiving the belt and are ready to install, note that one pully will have a bolt or screw that you can untighten so that the pully will move back and forth so the belt will fit on. Pull the pully tight against the new belt and tighten the bolt or screw. This should work.
