Player locked up while I was using it. I reset it and plugged it into my computer. Computer says player not plugged in. I reset it and it rebuilds library and locks up on same screen. Any ideas?
Yes I have used this port for my camera, not a problem. When I restart the mp3 player it will recognise it for a second and then says it is not connected!

Yep, I have the exact same problem with mine. I've had it a year and a half and always used the same computer.Yep, I have the exact same problem with mine. I've had it a year and a half and always used the same computer.
Assuming that you have this plugged into a usb drive, have you tried to connect the player into another usb connection on the computer? Have you got this usb connection to work with any other device besides the sansa? Does windows autodetect the sansa when you plug it in? If it doesn't autodetect a usb device then it's possible that the device is having trouble or the usb jack is having trouble.

If you are using windows, have you tried to reinstall the driver? Erase the driver using control panel and restart the computer. Reinstall the driver and tell me what happens. Hmm... that's weird. Maybe the player itself is shutting off the connection. I suggest you backup the infomation on your player and do a device reset if your device has one to clear out anything that may be in the device causing problems. If that doesn't do it then there could be a problem with the inside electronics.

If it is under warranty still retrieve the serial number from the back of the iPod and call Apple to setup an appointment at your nearest Apple store to save you time. They only take appointments now that I know of.
If by resetting you mean by:
Holding down menu & play/pause?
If that doesn't work plug it into the computer, make sure you have iTunes installed and then try restoring it. And if THAT doesn't work, make sure you have the lastest iTunes, and firmware. Sometimes computers are a little iffy, if the connection noise is present and disconnected it could be the USB port. Sometimes on my phone/mp3 players it'll do that and they only liked to be plugged back into the same original port the USB driver was installed on. So if you plugged it through the front when it was working try that.
When the mp3 player is plugged in to the computer, it won't respond to anything except the computer- the screen will just sit there and say it's connected. After you unplug it, it probably doesn't respond for 3 seceonds because it's refreshing its media. It might tell you it's refreshing or just refresh without saying anything.
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off.Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab.Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.
After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
hello! I had this problem, as you see, but i found solution. Go to creative.com and send an email about your problem. Then they will respond your email, and they explain what you have to do. If you are too lazy to send an email, you can also FORMAT everything, in the reset menu. Then the problem is also solved, but you don't have songs or videos on it
If that doesn't fix it trythe USB cable Screen Doesn’t come on anymore http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18859 If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
i have solved my problem !! if it says connected and when you plug it and out and it is still not working you just plug then unplug (might take some time)
Yes I have removed, restarted and reinstalled the driver and the player is still locked up. The computer still says that it is not connected.
Same problem here, with a V Plus.
