Question about Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook
Have you tried starting in the 'Safe Mode?'
If not, either F5 or F8 (right after anything appears on the screen) will bring up a short menu to allow you to choose the boot mode; choose the Safe Mode. This loads only the most basic windows files and will let you do some fundamental checking of the hard drive and Win installation.
If you can get that far, Click on 'Start,' then 'Run' and enter 'rstrui' and OK. This should start the Restore routine.
If it does, choose 'Restore to an earlier date.' Hopefully you have had Restore turned on and then you will have a calendar with light and bold dates. Choose a date a few days in the past and let it run.
This may or may not put you back in operation.
