Model 970-6874 oven overheated, couldn't shut it off. Had to turn breaker off. It read f10 ERR. Oven was so hot smoke detector was going

This oven was manufactured by Electrolux. However, you should double-check the model number. There should be two more digits in the number.

The F10 error indicates a run-away oven temperature. You need to unplug the oven or turn off the circuit breaker for at least 5 minutes to reset the error. Sometimes, the EOC (electronic oven control or main board) needs to be replaced. The oven temperature probe sensor may also be bad. This sensor can often be accessed through the oven; look for mounting screws on the inside back wall of the oven. Otherwise, you need to take off the back panel. The resistance across the sensor should read 1100 ohms (the wires to the sensor are usually violet). If you see a reading above 2000 ohms, replace the sensor. If the reading is 1100 ohms, then the control board is the part to replace. However, if the oven became too hot, the entire range need to be replaced. If your oven is under warranty, contact Sears for service.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the complete model number if you'd like help finding the parts for your range.

From you description I believe there are 2 possible solutions.
#1 The thermostat probe in the oven is bad and will need to be replaced.
#2 The relay on the main control is bad and the main control will need to be replaced.
The least expensive to try first is the oven probe.

Frigidaire cookstove model no. fgf316wgta oven not getting hot enough

Hello - Does it reach the temperature and then back down, or does it take too long to get to your set temperature? Either you have a faulty element or a bad communication error with the main control board.

My la cornue oven not heating, turn 1st knob to function desired and then temperature knob to desired temp but oven does not heat up

First thing should be to make sure the top selector switch is not set to the optional Pizza element.

Make sure the power to the unit is OFF. Also keep in mind that the following tests should be done by a qualified appliance specialist. To find one near you, contact the La Cornue Service Center @ 877-522-6768

Is this the first time using the oven? If so, make sure the overall power to the range is 240 volts. This can be checked at the main terminal block.

If your model has three indicator lights and the red light is illuminated, then it is likely the hi-limit thermostat has tripped and you will need to reset it. The reset switch is located underneath the cycling thermostat. To access this, you will need to remove the front fascia. Please note: The original safety thermostat is no longer available. Use current safety thermostat (reference: 06ELTS01). If your model has only two indicator lights and the red light is illuminated, that means the oven is heating up. If the red light is not illuminated when the thermostat is set at the desired temperature, then check the hi-limit thermostat.

Power relay/contactor on the back of the unit should be checked. It
