SOURCE: Kenmore Series 70 Dryer Buzzer won't stop buzzing - Model 110.96573220

  • the buzzer is located under the control panel.
  • you can unplug it.
  • unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off first
  • then take out the 2 screws on both sides of the control panel
  • bull it forward toward you and unhook it from the case
  • you should see the buzzer with two wires going to it
  • only need to disconnect one.
  •  just make sure you wrap the bare wire connector with electrical tape to keep it from touching metal.

SOURCE: loud buzz when starting, then shutting down after 10 min.

Yes, this sounds like the motor cutting out on thermal lockout.

SOURCE: Kenmore 500 series dryer won't start. Only 2.5 years old.

turn the drum with your hand,if it feels hard to move you could have something stuck in the blower wheel that is below the lint filter and behind the duct that the filter slides into or the belt could be jammed,if it moves try starting it it might start you could have a flat spot on the motor and most likely you'll need to replace it,if it'shumming it's the motor making the sound

My whirlpool duet electric dryer electrical systems and heat work fine, but drum won't turn and belt is in tact.

Check the motor capacitor, sometimes the capacitor could be faulty or the motor is faulty or check if the motor is receiving power,if it's receiving power try to replace the capacitor if the is any in the system,if still it's not working then the motor could be burnt.

Also check weather the timer is perfecty.

My ge dryer model DRS483ED1WW won't turn on all it does is buzz when I try. I have changed starter switch that didn't work

does the drum and motor turn by hand freely. but i think its possibly the bushes in the motor. just have a look at motor and see if theres black carbon dust on it, you will get this on a motor anyway but not in excess

Kenmore 68731 model 86873100 setting the drying to any of the drying methods, the dial does not move to automatically turn off the dryer.

You have a bad timer motor To verify you will get an ohm meter and remove the wires to the motor.
11_22_2011_3_24_20_am.jpg
Check between the motor wires fer continuity. If you have continuity then the next test will verify if the gears are stripped on the motor. Apply power to the timer motor and see if it advances on its own. From looking at your model number I see nothing unusual about the timer.
to get to the[parts list I did 110.36873100. 110 is a the large prefix which ID's the dryer as being a whirlpool model. All kenmores ain't Whirlpool.

Dreyer buzzes but will not come on

Sounds like the motor may be bad but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance.

Testing dryer motor

Hi there!

Very often you don't need a whole new motor. The parts that wear are called brushes, and are made of solid graphite.
These supply the power to the rotating part of the motor.

If the motor sticks or sparks, then these are probably what is needed.
If it buzzes a lot or has very little power, it is more likely to be the run capacitor.

Have a look at this site for detailed pictures of the parts, and replacement costs (from them) It may be better to shop around or enquire locally for replacements.

Repairs should only be undertaken by competent persons or those trained in repair procedures to avoid injury.
