A chattering sound is coming when a healthy battery is connected to the relevant terminals. The same sound persists when switching on 230 v ac. Keeping ac power on when I disconnected the battery the

My APC 620 VA ups needed battery replacement. For the time being to get the surge protection I was running the unit (without battery) with the help of a battery eliminator(out put 12V DC). I think it stopped functioning when one of the battery terminals got shorted with the chachis . But now I tried with a healthy battery. Whenever the battery is connected a chattering sound is coming from the unit. The sound continues even when the 230Vac mains is switched on. In this condition if the battery is disconnected then the frequency of sound is reduced to very low. The unit is not getting on at all. Model- SU620 INET (APC 620 VA). Can anybody help providing solution and circuit diagram?

If the battery terminals inside the unit became shorted, it's really not a user serviceable problem. APC doesn't publish schematics.

SOURCE: APC Backup UPS Model # BK200C salvageable?

Yes, but the battery may not be any good, though, and trying to charge it may damage the charger. A new battery is about $20. The surge suppressor will still work without the battery as long as it is connected to a properly grounded 3-wire circuit. If you decide to take a chance and charge the old battery, take precautions like keeping a watch on it should it explode or catch fire. Not trying to scare you, just looking at worst case scenario.

SOURCE: I have an APC BE350U battery backup. When power

There are 6 outlets on that unit. Only 3 of them have battery backup. The other 3 are surge protection only. Are you sure of which outlets you are using?

My renegade 50cc scooter will not charge battery

If you have shorted the polarity of the battery, you have probably damaged a diode in the voltage regulator...You should be showing better than 13 volts DC at the battery terminals while the engine is running...Use a digital meter to check it.....If you unplug the harness coming from the engine to the Voltage regulator...You should be showing better than 50 volts AC at the engine harness while the engine is running...Be sure your meter is on AC setting when testing the stator harness...Also be careful doing this test as a possibility of electrical shock exist...Be careful not to short any terminals.........

Hello, I installed a T104 timer switch following the directions on the manual. I connected supply lines to terminals 1 & 3 and the load wires going to the pool motor on terminals 2 & 4. The clock...

It doesn't sound like you are getting a true 230 volts to the timer. Measure from terminal 1 to terminal 3. You should read 230 volts. If you are getting 230 volts between 1 and 3, return the timer, it's defective. If you are not getting 230 between 1 and 3, then you'll have to have a look inside the electric panel to see what has been miswired. There should be a 2 pole breaker with a white and a black wire connected to it that goes out to the timer.

My laptop wont come on or charge

Please remove and clean the Battery terminals of the Notebook, make sure that the LED power indicator of the AC Adapter is glowing and output pin of the AC Adapter is properly connected to the notebook. The fault might be either with the output pin of the AC Adapter or Input DC socket of the Notebook. If the LED Power indicator of the AC Adapter is not glowing then the AC Adapter is not working and requires replacement. If the AC Adapter is working then please remove the Battery and turn on the Notebook by directly connecting to the AC Adapter. If the issue still persists, then it might be hardware issue of the Notebook and Service might be required. Please contact the manufacturer to initiate the service.

I have a 230 volt pump that needs 2 wires plus a ground wire. What kind of toggle switch will I need for this and how do I wire this?

If there are only two terminals on the motor the only connection would be one leg of the 230 volt supply on one terminal and the other leg on the other terminal.
The switch must be double pole, double throw. That is two terminals on top to connect the two supply wires and two terminals on bottom (that are both open when the switch is OFF and closed when the switch is ON) connect to the only two motor terminals. The ground wire grounds the motor green wire, the switch green screw (terminal) and any green wire on the supply wire.

Ac compressor not switching on 1986 Peugeot 505.GTI How can I test clutch wiring,. Have just aquired this car , heater blowers etc. working but ac clutch not cutting in, is there a switch I have not found....

The best thing to do first is to check the AC clutch itself if it's working, locate the air - con compressor and you will see a wire coming out from the front top of the AC-compressor, it has a connection, remove tht connection and take a piece of wire, connect it to the wire frm the AC-compressor and the other end of the wire to the battery positive terminal,by doing so you will hear a clicking sound of the clutch at the AC-compressor, better still is to start the car's engine, switch 'ON' the AC as normal, let the blower blow thn connect tht wire frm the AC-compressor to the positive side of the battery terminal and check it out if the AC-compressor rotates and also you may get in the car and see if its blowing cold air.
Please also check this -->
HEAT/COLD selector (on the dash) is not selected at HEAT...if it is thn the AC-compresor clutch will not kick in!
Hope this helps!

Generac 10 k battery charger installation at the generator, where does the ac input wires connect

Your electrician should have run a set of wires out to the generator from the transfer switch. The unit actually comes with a fuse holder, fuse, terminal connector, and jumper wire for installing these wires to the t1 or t2 terminals in the transfer switch. The dc wires will be the ones coming out of the battery charger, 1 of them will have a red marker around it, that is your dc positive. The 2 wires coming out of the opposite side of the battery charger is actuall your ac connection.

hope this helps let me know.
